They should allow him to play in jersey of Montenegro on trainings. He will become world class in three months.

Because he was Mancini's lovechild and now that Mancini is gone we are stuck with him. I read this morning that Sevilla no longer want him. For me, he is in the same bracket of player as Ranocchia and Nagatomo. Unfortunately, he is going to stick around because we were the only club stupid enough to offer him huge wages.

Can't wait to see everyone's reaction when Icardi and Eder go down with serious injuries, allowing Jovetic to step right in and score 10+ goals helping us finish top 3. Oh who am I kidding.

i must be the only one who's mildly excited about him staying. If Spaletti gives him a run i have no doubt he can have a positive impact for us this season. always liked him and was disappointed he was phased out after a positive start.

If he loses his number I would take that as a good sign that he's leaving.

I just don't see him ever working out here unless we want to change formation or sell Icardi.

Fourth place would do just fine.

Sevilla, Marseille's Jovetic frustration
By Football Espana staff

Sevilla continue to be frustrated in their negotiations with Inter for striker Stevan Jovetic, while Marseille are also struggling to do a deal.

The Montenegrin international reportedly wants to join the Andalucians after a loan spell last season but last week his agent confirmed he was growing impatient with negotiations.

Estadio Deportivo report that there has been no progress since and French giants Marseille are finding it equally frustrating to come to a compromise with the Nerazzurri.

Sevilla are reluctant to match the €13m transfer value being requested by Inter, while Marseille are said to be indecisive on a deal due to the player’s wages.

Jovetic netted six goals in 21 appearances for Los Rojiblancos after a loan deal with the Serie A side.

Do you guys take paycuts every time you change jobs?

How do you survive?

These are 2 different situations because none of us are professional football players, changing jobs doesn't require a company to pay the other to let a person quit

Ikr? You start at 5 mill, then you take a paycut at 4 mill, then again at 3 mill. That's below the poverty line.

From Jovetic's perspective, he is receiving less, that is not changed. The transfer fee itself does not concern Jovetic, he cares for what he receives on his end.

But the twilight of a football player's career is only 10 years or so, its actually quite low for that span, no?

There's no stock options or anything that prolongs the security of income or anything like that. 5mil vs 3mil is actually pretty significant if they are having to live off that for the rest of their lives. You take the top tax bracket out of 3mil gross wage, and suddenly you are getting something in the realms of 1.8mil a year. And you have to live off that for the next 50 years or so (sure you save a lot during that period, but at this amount, you are making less than corporate higher ups, and they have much longer careers)

Jovetic is making 3-3.5m net, so after tax.

But yeah, would make no sense to him to take serious pay cut. Of course if he wants to play badly, then he will take it, at least a small one.

Jovetic scored, but let's still treat him like a piece of shit and leave him on the trash list.

If Spalletti finds room for Jovetic, I wouldn't sell him for peanuts if that's the only alternative to keeping him.

He's still quality, though I understand if he wants to go if we cannot provide him first team football.

the only position that makes sense for him in the 4-2-3-1 is right behind icardi
