I agree, fantastic job.

Mourinho stated he was intent on signing another midfielder with different qualities, we have that now. Muntari will free up Cambiasso plenty, Camibasso can be our destroyer now...Our Lampard.

As for the negotiations, great work, great price.

While thinking of alternatives to Lampard and realising they couldnt find one, maybe somebody was smart enough to say...hey, Camibasso can play there, then we can sign Muntari to cover him. Something along those lines.

Cant way to see how all the pieces of the puzzle will fit now.

Only way Lampard will come is if its for free in '09. If not, his loss. I would be content with our midfield either way.

Bring on Ricky Q and our buyings are done.

Agreed, and well said. We need to get RQ.

How many times do I have 2 say that Cambiasso best position is a defensive midfielder, he is not that strong creatively and therefore the muntari deal doesn't make sense as we have enough dm, the only way this deal will go through is 2 offload dacourt & dejan!

So you have said it a lot and people still don't listen to you eh? Doesn't that tell you something by now?

Only reason you believe Camibasso is a DM is either because of a video game or because Mancini played him there. Roberto only put him there cause we had no other alternatives, Cambiasso was never a pure DM. Not before Inter and even now, look at him when he plays Argentina. He plays in front of Mascherano (the real DM) and he shines.

Tbh, I think we can do without Quaresma too. Considering we play Ibra and Adriano/Cruz/Balotelli, we have space for only one winger. We got Mancini and Figo/Jimenez as subs for that. Having RQ would complicate things a lot.

But its the usual with Inter getting the "good, but not great"- players, there is a reason where there is hardly any competition from other big clubs for 90% of the players we buy... We get the trash that has low chance of succes that no one else wants.

Muntari was wanted by Juve, Milan, Roma and Inter in his udinese days just in serie A, and he is being sold back to italy because he couldn't stay on the left side but kept drifting towards middle. Ports decided to sell Muntari because they need to strenghen sides and they might be able to buy SWP with enough cash (who will stick on the sidelines). Muntari's skill has nothing to do with him being able to do Davids or not.

Vieira (in his young days) Makalele, Mascherano ( 2 years ago) had less competition than Muntari, and some less skillful gattuso or poulsen didn't have much competition among clubs either than what Muntari had. I'm hoping you don't consider them trash too based on how many players got links with RM.

Muntari's success is yet to be seen, but trying out some players that has fought on par with milan's midfield on his debut day is better bet than some other players that are linked with us, or even Pele or Bolzoni. I'm against buying players who once shined on the field but failed become what he could have become, but whats wrong with buying a player in early twenties? You need to do a lotto when you see a chance before a huge NFS tag sticks onto the player or the club asks some money that could run a small country for a year.

Only thing that worries me is his temper and lack of discipline. He often fought with other players or even with refs which resulted to red. However, I think Mou might be able to take care of this if he is confident enough to fix Adri. This won't be a problem to you since you seem to have more faith in Mou than I do.

Are we insecure or something here Hal ?

Someone listes, someone does. In fact, I was saying this a long time ago if I remember.

Lets wait and see how Jose will field Esteban in the season. Yesterday he played behind Vieira and Zanetti, so I guess you and I, we both know where it is coming for.

Lampard as priority, also indicates, where Cuchu is being seen by Jose. Signing Muntari can change nothing in this department.

As one user on interfans.org have noticed, You can't order personalised shirt of Muntari on Portsmouth web site anymore.

For me Lampard and Cambiasso are both central midfielders as natural. There is a point on signing Muntari.

Amazing. When I first heard this news on monday, I thought they are doing a jinx, and just guessing there, why the agent of Quaresma was at Milano, alhough there were also reports he wasn't there after all.

Sometimes they do know something, and guess alright as it seems :p

Good deal, I am really happy with that. This guy easily has the potential to become better than Essien.

I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly we managed to close this deal. Less than a week after the rumour started, and a very reasonable price. Guess he really wanted to join us.

How many players/managers does Jorge Mendes represent? All Mourinho, Muntari, Quaresma, C.Ronaldo, R.Carvalho, Nani, Manuel Fernandes, Anderson, Scolari, Deco etc etc.

Also wouldnt it be a conflict of interest, if say Mourinho doesnt get along with one of Quaresma or Muntari, and gets in to a fight with one of them.

Probably it went like this. On Sunday Lampard went to China, Inter management made some conclusions, and asked about Mendes if Muntari would be willing to join, because it was so easy with the relations to Mendes. Of course Muntari would. Then we asked about Portsmouth and they have no choice against Inter if player wants to move. We offer them good money so it's a deal.

This deal doesn't exclude Lampard coming but it's a midfield acquisiton which we needed. Though not exactly what we needed but still some class to our midfield. Mourinho probably trusted Frank coming so much he really didn't have any alternatives to that pos.

I thought given the good player Muntari is reading the comments here this was a good signing but on Closer inspection

We have now 8 Middies excluding the fact that Figo and Mancini are now considered as part of the three attackers.

Vieira, Cambiasso, Zanetti,Dacourt, Stankovic, Jimenez,Pele and now Muntari.I think Pele is in Muntari mould. We have to give our own youngsters much confidence. And unless Muntari being a CM was of a Xavi or a Gerrard quality the existing stock was good enough. There is really not much upgrade over our Current group. And if we were really looking for a Muntari like player we should have kept Cambiasso or Dacourt or Pele for Sale earlier on which didnt happen also. This shows a lack of planning.

So there is every reason to believe that this is just a Panic Buy and lack of confidence in the current group. We are better off without this.

Or then we've just planned to loan Pele out. We are all with the opinion that Muntari is much better than Pele, aren't we? Muntari is not a stupid buy, not at all. He's a valuable association trained player who will replace Balotelli in that status next season (Balotelli becomes club-trained).

Our current group needed some reinforcement to midfield. We weren't better without this.

Thats what is problem with our Club.Rarely we promote our own group of player. We always believe in buying proven material at the cost of our own youth. And when there is talk of CLub Trained and Assoc. Trained players we always run for cover. Its Laughable really.

We had so much experience in Mid Field.Pele could have benefitted by staying here. And then we talk about "We are not selling the player just loaning him out".We are just sending wrong signal all the time.Telling the player indirectly you are not good enough for Inter despite the facr that you shone the few times you have played here.

Playing Muntari instead of pele doesnt mean that we are winning Champions League because of Muntari but playing Pele instead of Muntari would mean that Club is patient on a talented player.

No Wonder we didnt have a Home grown Club Symbol. The system Sucks:(

That's if. We don't know, why Jose signed him. And what Jose last is, is a person who is panicking, or is WITHOUT A PLAN.

All other points are irrelevent, because with Lampard as addition to the midfield, this situation is identical.

Why don't you go and support Arsenal, or Roma then. Sure, they don't win much, but they invest hell of a time in their youngsters.

From what my friends who constantly watch EPL have been telling me:
1) Muntari is a much better buy than Lampard because of his age and quality and the fact that in our 3 cm midfield he'd do a better job than Lampard defensively and is supposedly also good on the offensive.

2) Essien is a more defensive player than Muntari, so they're not the same player Muntari is more offensive and is actually pretty good on the offense..

3) Has done really well with portsmouth and was their best player..

I guess if all this is true then i congratulate you all on signing Muntari..May he shine in the black and blue colors and now off to sign RQ and get this done with...
