Went on vacation this weekend to enjoy some hot, sunny weather. Came home and it was a polar vortex. Grande.

Greece depends.

Ideal winter spots are Andalusia, Malta, Cyprus, Crete and the Canary islands if you consider them "Europe" (hint; they're in Africa)


There's still gonna be some bad days/weeks but it beats whatever they have in rest of Europe.

Athens is passable, northern Greece not so much. Thessaloniki for example has pretty much the same weather as Milano, possibly just less rainy days.

Crete is a different animal compared to the rest of the country. I was there last December for few days and i made the mistake to take winter clothes with me. I went there and it was way too hot for December. At least what i am used to. I had to buy few clothes from local shops to make it bearable.

Funny thing is locals were dressed like it was the coldest day of the year (hoodies, sweaters, coats, scarfs, etc.)

I usually got to Mexico or Colombia in February/March once I get my bonus. Get away from the winter + live like a god for a week in a cheaper country. Even then you miss the cold of the US when its like 95 degrees and you get sun burned

Australian Shepard. (well mix but its way more of an Aussie than my last one that was a "Aussie" but was a Texas heeler which is a Australian Shepard/Cattledog mixed with border collie.

kids are super happy. Our last one died last year. Finally caved with them and the wife crying about getting one again. It was a late Lunar New Year family gift. The adoption place doesnt open till Thursdays and man.... had to wait like 3 hours to get in. Glad I did.... I did have a woman behind me who threw a tantrum when she noticed I picked the dog she wanted. ....

I don't mind rain, I don't mind cold, I don't even really mind wind all that much.

But a windy, rainy day in the 45-50F range (7-10C) is about the most unpleasant weather imaginable. Drop it 20 degrees (about 12C) and make it snow at least.

Here in South East Nigeria we only have 2 seasons. Hot, humid and heavy rainy season ( 7-8 months ) Hot, humid and no rain season ( 4-5 months ) aaaannnd of course there are billions of fuckin mosquitos all the time !
