If anybody hasn't seen the movie don't worry you don't need to, to understand my coming story, but it's the only fitting title I could think of, and since I've come to love this place in the past 2 years of reading and the past 4-5 months of me posting I feel like this would be a nice experience to share.
A few years ago when I graduated from highschool I was a mess. I hadn't been accepted by any colleges and I didn't know what shithole I would end up in. I got a job cleaning theaters and toilets at the nearby cinema and enrolled in a community college. My parents, who are hardcore conservative Egyptians, saw me as a failure and a useless piece of shit. I was the laughingstock of the family and the humiliation of my relatives.
Anyways I knew something had to change in my life and when I told them my plan they all laughed and told me I was retarded. I promised them I would still finish college in 4 years and graduate with an Electrical Engineering degree. Needless to say, they didn't have much faith in me, but they agreed to at least pay tuition, which I am grateful for even today. The complete opposite of backup and belief they had for my sister, who to them was a Goddess. I don't hate my sister at all, but following her was no easy task especially with how wonderful she is doing right now.
Fast forward a year and I had around 3.8 GPA and easily got accepted into the university I wanted to go to and finish college. Not much story here but fast forward to today and the realization of my dream. I was just offered a job today from a company in which I've wanted to work for and making much more money than the piece of shit cleaning job I had, and I'm graduating in less than 8 weeks.
The reason I'm sharing this story with you guys is that I know there are plenty of you with dreams and future goals, but there always are obstacles in the way, and if a dipshit like me can end up with a legit career, then there is no reason ANY SINGLE one of you guys can accomplish what you dreamed as a child, teenager, or adult. I went through hell and high water, but I'm sure there are people going through much worse situations! I just felt like this would be a nice story and hopefully jump start someone into going through the right road and achieving their goal down the line.
Feel free to include your own stories because I'd love to read them and know!
Best of Luck,
Pharaoh
