If he has shares in Pfizer or Modera, I have no concern about his financial power
Pfizer stock is quite shit. Price doesn't really move that much.

Moderna, sure, if he bought in early. But he invests in clinics and hospitals iirc and deals with the government, rather than buying shares etc.

If there's credibility here, it's his fund that is interested, not he himself. He cannot afford the asking price anyway, but he can LBO the club using the fund. It's basically an American Thohir.

to be honest, I'm not against the idea of a professional investor coming in, sorting out our shit in the short term, getting a stadium built, and then selling the club. The revenue base would be there and we'd bein a more interesting position in many ways.

That being said I'll probably live to regret this post.

There's no way an American businessman, who isn't even that rich, is politically savvy enough to get a new stadium built.

Ish, right. PIF and Newcastle was quite public, but basically, by the time anything like this comes public its pretty much guaranteed, and we wouldnt have the level of fucking around and uncertainty that you do see with these rumours

PIF and Newcastle was a thing for years actually. An on and off relationship.

Deals like this only come to light when they fail and the NDAs are weak so they leak. Or when they're on the verge to succeed.

It's very rare that this will be public news months before any agreement. Suning have met with over a dozen potential suitors in the last 2 years, yet we've heard just about 3 of those. (PIF, BC Partners and that other US fund).

Our deal with Suning itself wasn't really a thing in the media until mid April 2016. The deal was concluded within 2 months of that. Oh, and 2 weeks prior to the media reports Thohir said that his only focus is Inter.

They keep saying how we need 15m€ every month, which we don't have so we basically bleed money.

Biasin said he called to Inter and they replied that "at this moment there is nothing, Zhang family wants to move forward". Whatever that means. :D

( "Guarda Fabrizio, in questo momento non esiste nulla, la famiglia Zhang vuole andare avanti")

He's involved in pharmaceutical investments mostly, as well as real estate, doubt there's much interest in football, but he does own an NBA team and the new stadium project probably will provide with a 'flip' opportunity.

His networth is a little shy of half a billion iirc, but that's not where the money would come from anyway.

As a note, his reputation wasn't the greatest some years ago, not sure about the current situation.
He owned a minority stake in the Memphis Grizzlies. I believe it was 18% and I’m not even sure it was just him. I believe it was a group led by him, which is what this would be. He sold his stake in 2018.

Also for those who aren’t aware the Memphis Grizzlies are a small market NBA team. We aren’t talking a valuation in line with some of the more famous teams. There’s no such thing as a cheap NBA team but there are levels to this.

I'm leaning towards the "it may happen" wagon.

It's no accident that the Suning guys reemerged and started to sound cries of stability. A change of some kind is imminent.

Their report is based on the news previously published by International Business Times. If the news is true, it remains to be seen how PIF configure the ownership structure. I don't think UEFA allow two clubs with similar owner (Newcastle and Inter, if it happens) to participate in UEFA competition.

If Newcastle gets relegated, that's only going to be a problem from 2024 and on :D

Till then we'll have Superleague, so we can play there and Newcastle in Uefa competition. Problem solved lol

Yes, it is likely the case. But, if PIF really acquires Inter, they better come with a substantial investment, which necessitates long-term perspective. Instead of leaving a possibility to have a clash with UEFA down the road, I think they would prefer to come up with a structured transaction, which complies with UEFA regulation on club ownership.
