On the money laundering thing while i cannot prove it did not happen i cannot imagine a more complicated way to launder money than buying a high profile Football club. Even more so if you need to get that money out of china first.

Anyways on suning i m not sure if it has been written here but chances of them selling us are still quite high it might be that Zhang goes for a hail marry though. Despite all the covid damage that suning suffered through the real problem here is Evergrande and it s boatload of debt that is shortly before collapsing (check their bond prices). Now back in september or October 2020 Suning(zhang) could have demanded a 3 bio repayment of a strategic investment into Evergrande but he did not helping evergrande to avoid a cash crunch and worse. Now Personally i believe that Zhang and the other investors did not all leave their money in there on their own, I assume the CCP strongly encouraged them as a collapse of evergrande would be a disaster for chinas economy and markets. Part of my suspicion comes from the CCP cracking down on baba and tencent and both buying assets off of evergrande right after.

Problem here is that suning them selfes has to pay back 4.3 bio by the end of this year. Not recalling the debt put suning into real problems as now they probably wont be able to meet their own obligations unless they sell some portfolio companies or they get help from the government. If nobody (ccp, baba) jumps in and saves them by the end of 2021 we will be sold either right before that or right after suning declares bankruptcy.
I do fully expect Baba or the CCP to step in before that though while suning is not evergrande important their stil fucken big and employ a ton of people.

Wasn't Baba and CCP already "saving" Suning by getting into their business? They bought pieces of Suning.com and it's not controlled by Suning (the group) anymore. Isn't that like their main business (retail business) which made them their money?

Baba already owned part of suning (20%) before the current problems occured while it is speculated that baba was part of the recent share buys it is not clarified and suning denied that baba would take em over. Of the latest deal I only know that it was a group of state owned investors who bought Zhangs shares dont think baba would be part of that. Then again it s a lot harder for me to get accurate info out of china as disclosure is usually less and if you dont speak chinese it s very hard to get to the bottom of things. Same goes for whos in charge atm it s not really clear wether baba zhang or the CCP call the shots atm. I Doubt it s Zhang though as he has not got the shares to control anything.
Also yes they made their money in retail.
One other interesting thing that is not fully clear to me is what is the role of lion rock capital they own 30% of inter and we never fucking hear of them other then when the announcement was made. Not taht i want updates from them but it seems weird that they re not rumored to step in and buy the 70% of suning in case it gets really bad.

Again i might be off on some of these things as i get my info only from translated sources and not everything is out there plus i cannot be bothered to tripple check atm.

I get they need money and will probably sell the club

Selling all our players makes us a cheaper team

we aren’t Man U or Real that just the name is worth 1 billion.

they sell all our good players and keep all the deadwood with 5m + a season contracts they’ll be lucky to get 50m for us

I don't know how much they can get from the club if they keep selling big names (next summer).

I feel Suning have well and truly misread and overestimated the value of the club.

As an analogy, they looked at Lukaku's age and the offer from Chelsea and decided that a 115 million was peak money for him. They were not willing to risk a drop in his price this season resulting from Conte's departure or a weakened team. Many posters on here feel they read the situation well.

In relation to selling the club, I believe they have totally misread the situation. The peak time to sell the club was last season when there were rumours of a take over and we were the Champions of Italy in waiting. They should have taken the money (800 million) or whatever was being offered at the time.

Conte leaving, selling Hakimi, selling Lukaku and the team ultimately not performing at the same levels as the last two seasons will lead to valuations of the club being less than what was being offered earlier this year.

Essentially, if Suning thought that Inter was worth over a billion dollars earlier in the year and only 800 million (or thereabouts) was being offered at the time, it is more than likely that anyone making an offer in the future might see the club as being worth 800 million (at best) and put in an offer around 650 or 700 million.

Either way, Suning lost their chance and the knock on effect will be that Inter as a club will struggle and continue to be extremely limited as long as Suning remain in charge.

Puma, as Zhangs are putting aside over 50% of the money profited from the sales, it will ease with the costs of running the club. That itself is valuable also for the buyers. This club is heavily indebted and is running on a deficit year to year basis. Salaries need to be cut more (like signing dzekos and such...wait) and more revenue streams need to be opened to make any sense to own the club.

Last season was not best time to sell due to the Covid situation. Also, they surely would think better to sell after Inter become the champions of italy rather than before.

I think their intention by selling top players with bids over the players's value is to fix the finances with the hope that we can still maintain our performance, i.e. qualified for CL or keep the Scudetto. That way they can sell with much better value because we would have better finance but still has good brand value. We can argue whether we can maintain our performance while losing our best players, but at least I think that is what their intention for now

It also means selling best players when there are bids over the players' value will still continue in the next transfer window

Yes that's what I think will happen. We will sell players next summer too. And I think that will be irregardless of who the owner is. Because the owner won't be some rich Arab fund, it will be Suning or some American fund who actually cares about the money.

I predicted that we would be today's Ajax, Red Star, etc... in 10 year time after the ESL was abandoned.

Now for the guys who didn't want ESL, enjoy yourselves, may not even take 10 years.
Wholeheartedly agree... I have no fucking idea what possessed Inter fans of all people to stand in solidarity with mediocre clubs who won't even buy our flops from us at market value.

The Super League was a lifeline that Inter needed.

Because I don’t want to see a commercialised Inter at the bottom of a fantasy ‘super league’ for 23 fucking years!! 🤣🤣

We’ll get through this shit though!

Instead, we're a commercialized Inter, putting our brand on cheap Chinese products and sponsorships and finished at the bottom of our group in our most recent European campaign.

Il Sole 24 Ore journalist, Carlo Festa, posted some interesting things on twitter. Among other things, he said Suning are open to selling the club, they would accept if they received an offer of 600-700m and Zhang Jr. rejected BC Partners evaluation of 650m as he evaluated the club a lot higher due to Inter's involvement in Super League project.

I’m fine with this for now as it can be fixed with new owners, a proper project and ambition.

Where as the super league would have us fixed for 23 years rooted at the bottom of a fantasy league with little room to build as the other teams in rhe ‘league’ would always get a bigger cut. With no escaping from it till I’m in my mid 50s 🤣🤣 fuck that in every direction.
