I don't think Momente' and Germinale will play more for Inter. Them being loaned out once again shows that Inter prefer others, both in the first team and in primavera.

looking at the threads i ran into this one and it's a quite interesting subject actually . I am one of the biggest supporters of youths playing with the first team and looking at some posts in this thread you can easily notice how great youth prospects(this said from the posters in this thread) have turned out into total flops. The biggest example is slavskovski from many on this thread expected to be part of the first team back than and now he is not a football player anymore ...... :rollani::confused:

Yeah I'm Swedish and I still cant understand how promising Slavkovski was regarded just a few years ago. Even here in Sweden the papers never write anything about him nowadays.

And there is another side to it too, there are a lot of Inter youth talent who were not given the opportunity to make their mark for the senior team... and now they are doing this at other clubs... Bonucci is the latest example.

I think Inter are very poor at that final aspect of youth development - giving them top end exposure to make great champions out of potentials. We did that with Santon, but we need to do more and more of this.... IMO Krhin is the next talent who could become a regular for the senior team. I hope Mou continues to have faith in the lad.

If you play a youngster deliberately, although there is someone better in the team, your odds to win next game are getting smaller, right?

This is a deal over here. With playing a young player you risk loosing points, because at top club like Inter there are many good first team players. And the odds are getting smaller with every other youngster that you play that is not picked in the first team because he deserves this spot, but because he is 17, or 18 years old.

Only special players like Totti, Maldini, Nesta who comes in the one in a milion group, can be so good in their teens that they can compete for the place in the first team at top teams.

And again, you focus on 1-5% of our youth players that were sent somewhere and showed something. How about praising the 95-99% cases where our management did right assesment?

Or maybe you expect us to have 100% ratio, the one no team in this world has ?

If you sell 100% of your youth, you will get it right 90% of the time. These stats mean nothing.

The talent of Bonucci was as apparent as the talent of young Santon. I am not saying that you play youth in place of better & more experienced stars... I am talking about a balance, which Inter are yet to get right. There should be more youth in our squad (looking at the quality of our youth teams in thelast 4-5 years) than there are now.

yes, Inter are getting better at it (looking at the relative success of balotelli & santon), but I would say we are at 40-50% of what we should be at in this regard. Inter need to improve their strategy of exploiting their youth talent better.

i think it is obvious to most that the italian game isn't suited to youth promotion but i think it is also obvious that Inter are trying to improve this aspect of the club. I think the likes of balotelli and santon would have been farmed out before mancini and we may never of heard of them again. i think pasquale was promising and i remember nello russo being half decent along with momente. perhaps they could have been better but obviously we'll never know. all we can hope is that now, the youth program will be adapted to suite the 19-21 year old player progression into the 1st team. Perhaps Italy should invest in some kind of reserve league.........

Sorry, but Mancini gave Balotelli his first starts.

This is a never ending story with guys like you.

You know what I would love to do? I would love to have you here on these boards for the next 5 years, ask you who are those "apparent" tallents right now, just so that you can name them as it seems you know your stuff, and then after 5 years show you how your thinking of "apparent" is wrong, and how many guys you missed, or how many people you pointed out who turned out they don't have it in them.

BTW I agree we can improve, and I think we will.

ps. You know I can't wait for those 5 years anyhow, you know why? Because after these 5 years we will have tons of examples of guys like you, who moaned about all those tallents that were let go, who were nothing special in the end, and I will be able to show it to the next guys like you. If you want to see how it's like, go and look how Ibra thread started or how Maicon thread started, or like Cambiasso thread started. Nothing is "apparent" and nobody is right all the time.

//edit:

It's just like this one time, I argued with someone about how it was "apparent" that Cambiasso is going to be big at Inter(you won't find many people with a different opinion right now - although I'm one of them and am not ashamed to admit that), and how he was one of the best "promising players" at Madrid (that's probably the reason they let him go free BTW), and the funny thing is that it took a whole year until somebody made a thread for Cambiasso, who was "apparent" to be a big thing. Ironic huh ? :)

But, I mean this isn't strange. If we would sign, say Eden Hazard, or some other nice younsgter I'm sure it would take long time until we would start discussing about how it is apparent that he will be a great buy :p

Nothing strange about it.

Do you think there will be any Primavera call-ups to the Chievo game? I was thinking about central midfielders but as Krhin is out we don't have any young promising central midfielders that I know of, because I dont think Mourinho will call up Fossati or Crisetig before they get a little older.

They could have a shot at being at least at the bench, if Mourinho knew it before how the situation will look like. But without training with the first team it is impossible I think.

I hoped to see Krhin, because this was the perfect opportunity for him to play, but this injury happened. Big shame.

Maybe it's not as bad and he will indeed play at least 15 minutes.

APPIANO GENTILE - José Mourinho has named a squad of 20 players (three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders & four strikers) for Wednesday's Serie A Week 18 match away to ChievoVerona (Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi at 12:30):

Goalkeepers: 1 Francesco Toldo, 12 Julio Cesar, 21 Paolo Orlandoni.

Defenders: 2 Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, 6 Lucio, 13 Maicon, 23 Marco Materazzi, 25 Walter Samuel, 26 Cristian Chivu, 29 Giulio Donati.

Midfielders: 4 Javier Zanetti, 7 Ricardo Quaresma, 10 Wesley Sneijder, 14 Patrick Vieira, 28 Alen Stevanovic, 48 Lorenzo Crisetig.

Strikers: 22 Diego Milito, 27 Goran Pandev, 45 Mario Balotelli, 89 Marko Arnautovic.

Screw me, I was wrong and I love it! :D

Kudos to you ;)

But we have to wait for the actual game. Being on the bench doesn't mean much. Arna was there many times and he didn't play even 1 minute.

Not that I wouldn't love to see a kid like Crisetig for example.

Knowing Mourinho he probably won't feature, correct. But as Mourinho says that anyone called up is able to play this means he least views Crisetig as an alternative! :D

Hopefully we can get a few quick goals and one or two of the youngsters can make an appearance.
