You all must have noticed this section at Inter.it. (Cosa accadde oggi? in Italian version). I read it almost everyday and it usually has nice short details about our history. Maybe we could collect some of them here every now and then. Today there was this hilarious story:

February 10, 1946 - With Inter leading AC Milan 2-0 in a derby, a spectator throws an orange at referee Bellè. The Venetian referee picks it up, peels it and eats it while walking calmly towards the changing rooms with the players. The San Siro applauds him.

Hilarious stuff. :howler:

Great idea Jake

You just made me think at Abbiati picking up oranges while Di Biagio was taking the free kick in the derby :dielaugh:

Inter lose 4-3 away to Fiorentina. It`s the first of just two defeats in the 1988/89 Serie A, a record for the 18-team championship (equalling the one set in 1964/65).

A 2-0 defeat away to Modena marks the first of five straight defeats (a record equalled in 1955/56 and 1956/57).

Massimo Moratti concludes negotiations with Ernesto Pellegrini for the acquisition of Inter. It`s a Saturday afternoon and the team are in retreat at Pinetina when the news breaks that Inter will return to the Moratti family.

19-02-1989 Inter beat Ascoli 3-1 at the San Siro to kick off a record run of eight consecutive victories and equal winning sequences in 1939/40 and 1964/65.

19-02-2005 Udinese 1-1 Inter is the last positive result in a club record run of 27 Serie A matches without defeat.

22-02-1981 Giuseppe Bergomi makes his debut for Inter in a 2-1 victory at home to Como, replacing an injured Gabriele Oriali. Piero Volpi (Inter doctor from 1995 to 2000) is in the Como line-up.

22-02-2001 Inter lose 2-0 at home to Spanish side Alaves and are out of the UEFA Cup. Violent protests by Nerazzurri fans leads UEFA to ban Inter from playing their next two European home matches at the San Siro.
