I can't get over what a massive waste of money this idiot was. We have a squad that should be competing to go deep in the UCL and fighting for a Scudetto. Meanwhile, we still don't have a reliable backup for Bastoni, a player who Inzaghi insists on taking off. Instead of signing a reliable LCB reserve we've resorted to kicking Bisseck to LCB and giving de Vrij minutes at RCB for the first time in his career. Grande.

The guy is young, new in Serie A and from a farmers league. Give the guy some time. The only reason Bisseck brake through was because Limone had to play him, given the lack of options. So when nothing serious happens to Bastoni, Palacios probably won’t see any realy minutes until 2025.

I think we understand that. The frustration is that he is here in the first place instead of some more experienced like Hermoso who would have almost certainly gotten a few starts by now. Which would have helped us not have to stretch Dimarco for example so he could have played against City.

I have no idea if Palacios will end up being the next Bastoni, Dodo, or somewhere in between. What I do know is that our management was forced to ignore a very real need by Oaktree.

Also, given that apparently now we're subbing off Bastoni during games on a regular basis (which, in itself, can be considered understandable), having a qualified LCB would've been even more useful since Augusto is already usually Dimarco's sub. There's an awful lot of "this shit doesn't make any sense" going on right now, and we're not gonna be able to give Bastoni the ends of games off if we're gonna keep conceding in his absence.
