Since now we have such a big community... I'm going to shoot in the dark.

Anyone here deal in car tyres, the stock Bridgestone on my Infiniti is not going to last long and before it gets hotter in Dubai I want to change them.

Usually I would just go to Bridgestone and get the same, but now I want to save money as times are bad.

To be specific, I want to know if and what difference does a good brand make? Any reccomended brands that are a little below Bridgestone level?

It really depends on how you drive and at what times. I bought the same tires on the same car at the same time with a friend, and mine lasted 1 year longer.

Stick with brand names. They will last longer, but ultimately you end up paying the same. Cheap tires will go smooth in a year so you'll replace them twice in 2 years, or you pay twice as much and buy and expensive tire which lasts two years. It's not exactly like that but you get the idea.

Avoid no-names and just go for popular brands. If you're trying to save go to Sharjah industrial area and there's a road with about 20 tire shops.. Just go door to door and bargain. But only 4 not 5. Sell your old tires, they are worth something since they are not blown - the garages sell them as spares. Rotate them every few months. Buy the exact same size you have now, don't listen if they tell you the size is similar and fits your rims. Just get the exact same thing you have now, it'll last longer.

Yeah can't go wrong with Pirelli... Yokohama is good too, the car I used to drive had those on for a few years before they had to be changed.

Thank you Ehsan, I know what place you talking about, I'm obviously going to fit the same size as the width on the fronts is a little different to the rear ones.... I'm thinking of a mid range brand, not the Bridgestones and Pirellis and not the unknown Chinese ones, somewhere in the middle, Yokohama, Hankook(seems to be popular here as all public transport vehicles use it in Dubai)...

Anyone else with the view on brands?

Btw, its crucial as I drive an Infiniti G35 with 306hp. So yea performance tyres :D

For performance, Hankook is good, boyfriend uses those for 'spirited' driving. Don't know about the price though.

She should be punished then not rewarded with a new one. There are 100dhs phones you know? She should be ashamed of wasting your hard earned money and settle for a cheap mobile. Tell her Ehsan said so. Show her this post. :D

Good quality/good traction plus cheap id say nexen, nankang, Westlake. My best friend owns a tire shop and I'm a car enthusiast so I'm pretty knowledgeable in tires.

Nexen, Nankang, let me find them in Dubai first. Great advice though GrandeInter10

And Ehsan, you sure dont like me being alive. Take this, I love all 206 bones in my body and I dont intend to have any of them broken in a fit or rage and anger.
