I guess Klinsman has been hinting about Donovan not making it, but I'm kind of surprised that Brooks, Chandler, and Yedlin made it and Parkhurst and Goodson didn't. Also happy for Wondo.

It's obvious they wanted to build for the longterm. Play some guys now and hope 2018 is the year to have more mature guys.

Except Brooks and Yedlin probably won't play, Green might get a few minutes over the 3 games, and Chandler isn't that young. Maybe Klinsy thinks the atmosphere will help some young guys know what it takes for 4 years from now, but Goodson and Parkhurst could have helped. Probably won't make much difference though.

Anyone going to the East Hartford game on Oct 10?

Donavan's last game with the red white and blue.

I am planning on it tho Colombia might play Argentina that day in NYC. Still waiting to hear if we play Argentina in October or November

bump / that was fun

I'd always been something of a Klinsi apologist, but a 10 goal turnaround in goal differential from one WCQ to the next? Sure seems like US Soccer made the right choice...

Hex is looking a whole lot different after that result. Pulisic is an exciting young talent and Dempsey comes back looking like he's still our best player.

Born in New Jersey. Raised up in Miami. Currently live in Berlin, so not a total fraud. As previous post suggests, I got big love for the USMNT.

I still display my nerazzurro Grateful Dead logo - they're about as American as a band can be but seem to be pretty unknown internationally. That's also where my username comes from, BTW.

Back in the driver seat. Pressure's off for the trip to the Azteca.

it's funny how American media have to keep saying Pulisic is the real deal.

It's like we've been burned too many times by young boy-wonders that didn't pan out.

I'm still hesitant to crown him honestly, exactly for the reason you said above. Also because I'm an Inter fan, and to think any club could actually get a players youth development right is beyond me. I'm still just waiting for him to get benched for an entire season or something.

Embarrassing. Hopefully US makes some serious changes to the program.

They said in Beinsports that Tata Martino is going to be the coach.

Would be interesting but would like if they gave Osorio(Mexicos coach) a shot. US wants to be a European team way too badly. They want to be a mini england. Become a stronger, taller, faster South American team.

Osorio > Martino and he coached in MLS.

Issue with Osorio is when his teams do bad they do real bad 7-0 haha
