Attack like South Americans defend like Europeans. Take headers like Europeans best of both worlds

I feel US wants to be England way too badly and that’s why they fail. I also don’t like how they are 30 pounds and a foot taller then the concacaf player yet still lose in the air and a duel of strength. It’s like don’t be scared to play dirty or use your best attributes.

Matt Miazga my new fav player after chumping out Lainez.

It's pretty fucking stupid for people to make a big deal about it. People talking about how it's an issue that he made fun of his height and that it's a statement about all of U.S. Soccer. Fuck off with that and let me enjoy Miazga pretending to crouch to see Lainez.

Colombian Cardona got banned for like 6 months for making an “asian eye slant” gesture in a friendly in February. A Chilean did it this week much worse.

Mexicans are pretty short what can you do. Pretty sure the Mexican could have said anything as well. These games are usually tense and this is a rivalry. Both teams played kind of dirty. Thought the mexican who got red carded broke the Americans leg.

Only reason this might be getting so much hate is because of the political climate in the US. With how he who should not be named talks about Mexicans. Tho a good portion of the US team is Hispanic so this is being blown up too big.

Worst things happen Argies are called out all the time for what they call black players. Same with Brazilians and 80% of their players are black.

Lainez called Miazga a puta so I mean, making fun of his height seems little more tame than personal insults.

Playing Colombia think it’s the 2nd time in a year they play in Florida!! Play in NYC YOU FKS !!!

Excited for the game and going to see them play Peru in Hartford next week.

This no body youth team has been super impressive them not keeping the coach is going to backfire on them just because they want a “big name or euro coach”. Unless they replace him with Tata Martino who is wanted by Argentina, Colombia and Mexico then the federation are a bunch of idiots

Tied France before the WC with a bunch of scrubs, got robbed by Brazil then dominated Mexico. Want to see what this team can do with more starters

Everytime I see Josef Martinez, the guy is killing it in the MLS since he left Torino. He just scored another sick goal for Atlanta United. I don't rate the league at all, but I think he should give European football a shot again if the opportunity comes. The guy is still only 26 years old.

Also I couldnt find the Damn MLS thread.

Martinez seems happy being Mr. Atlanta FC. Can’t say I blame him if the money is right.

In other news Josh sargent scored today in his 2nd Bundesliga start, great goal too.

Do euro teams want him?
How much does the MLS want for him? He doesn’t start for his country and won’t until he leaves. So pretty sure he wants to go

Manotas of Colombia/Houston is linked to Portugal/Holland every transfer window. Don’t think teams don’t want MLS players it’s iust what MLS wants for their players is ridiculous. The best player in the Colombian league went to Porto and starts instantly. 23. He went for $7 million

How much did the Paraguay kid from Atlanta go to England for

Should the same not apply to Gabigol?

Yep, I still think Gabigol should get a fair shot though  He only got like 1 start for us.

Difference is Martinez is involved a lot more in the build up and seems a bit more skillful especially with the ball at his feet.

Rather keep the money and spend it smartly like Sensi not Gabigol or Joao or K-Dog

US needs to spend and bring in a good coach. Don’t get why they didn’t get Martino. Dude was the best coach in the MLS and coached 2 teams in a World Cup as well as Barca

U.S.' national team seems to have regressed, and very badly. It was really surprising that they could not even qualify for the world cup, despite an easy group.

From the outside, it is almost unbelievable that they can be this bad.

I see from the sheet of the match against mexico that pulisic played wide on the left.

That was a mistake IMHO: first rule for the technically poor teams, if you have ONE good player, put him in the best position to be into the thick of the game.

Anyways, Aron Jóhannsson takes the cake: dual citizenship, Icelandic and u.s., chose the latter, in his words, to take part in the world cup.

If US fails to make it again they need to just merge Comenbol and Concacaf.

No way Chile shouldn’t make it so Panamá can because the US needs a easy route.

Maybe they can ask to join Oceania :)

i wouldn't oppose this. I think part of the USA team's issue is that they build a bubble for themselves and think they are better than they are - and that prevents them from really investing and really focusing on improving. This is the same issue as a team (qualifying from CONCACAF where there is no competition) and as individuals (players ditching europe too early in their careers or afraid to make the move from the MLS to europe - or just general team selection for the national team).

They need to wake up.

Pure domination by Mexico.

McKennie with the set piece goal to tie it up.

Wtf was that stoppage time. 2 minutes of actual play from the original 7. A stoppage for a homophobic chant. Wild

That's what happens when you play Mexico. Nice penalty by Pulisic to seal this thing.

Edit: my posts have not been particularly accurate tonight. Penalty for Mexico.
