I think the NBA/TNT/ESPN comparison is accurate, Titi et al are knowledgeable and former players as well but indeed it is comedy banter the networks promote rather than dry breakdownsInside the NBA is basically a comedy show.
But Kenny Smith is rather knowledgeable, they just won't let him speak up as much because it's funny to joke on him, Charles Barkley is an enigma as sometimes he speaks the truth and the rest of it he's just acting like a mainstream bot, and Shaq prefers to be a clown than an analyst. But whenever Shaq talks ball, you can tell that he knows his shit.
I wouldnt' say the football show is far different. You can tell Henry knows his shit, Carragher typically doesn't but has past experience knowledge and Micah doesn't really know much, he's just pure emotions and banter, which is why he's the most likeable of them all.
I liked Henry and even Carragher but Richards I cannot tolerate with that stupid big laugh peppered throughout like he’s their own personal laugh trax. It’s mediacized football with little substance, much like NBA/ESPN/TNT etc. Terrible formula, French shows are better
