Mamic co. and all their friends are out of club, Velimir Zajec club legend is president elected last spring, and guys that are closer to the fans have won. You can say that club has never been closer to the BBB and regular fans, @SiamoNoi could explain it better then me.
Ah, Mr Zajec. Lovely person, top player, but wasn't really great at running a club though :D

Different when it's you're managing your own club of course.

And lose airtime on TV? Why would they do that?

This format seems significantly less fair than the previous format.

If you're in the one league or group, everyone should play everyone.

Just avoid Real Madrid, probably ManCity too. Others are manageable.

Btw as soon as we reach there, what is the benefit of being pot 1 tbh?
In the old format it brings clear advantage, teams in the same seeding group cannot meet each other soon. So clearer chance to top the group, effecting directly the knockout picks.
In this format we must draw two teams from pot1 and 2 from pot2 regardless. Same apply for every teams. No real advantage in seeding.

the thing i dont really like about it is... looking at the league table also doesnt really help. because (I believe) inter's last 2 games are against pot 3 and pot 4?? (or at least it is in football manager), the table can actually be really fucking misleading

Give me at least one of Sturm and Slovan from pot 4. Away game. Dinamo away from pot 3. Or Salzburg at least. Italian club from pot 2 (Atalanta preferably) and let's say Arsenal. From pot 1 City and Borussia.

Can you draw a team from your country? Don't think so

i think you cant face another same country team in this stage but i could be wrong

or at least the BBC says:

The software stops teams playing rivals from their own country - and means each team can only play two clubs from any one country.

i dont know how they define rivals

Two clubs from one country is max I think.

Oh,I'm dumb. Don't know actually.

Brugge if not Italian club.

I guess we can't play against Italian teams and can play against both Sturm and Salzburg for example.

Hm
Rivals can either mean any domestic team or the assigned local TV pool money rival which means that one plays Tuesday the other Wednesday for tv purposes etc.

I am guessing it's option A

You don't even play the same team twice, home and away. It's farcical.

Yeah

On the other hand it means we don't need to get beaten twice by Real 😂

I wouldn't be surprised if it changed in a season or two. The overall format I get, but you could mix it up a little bit

This format decreases the sporting aspect of the competition, ie. the fairness factor since teams playing in the same standings and playing points do not play against all the others. In group stage, you had that. One standings where all the teams played against each other.

Format increases the randomness factor and maybe so called "interest" factor in terms of casuals. Since there are lot of different games and specially more games between top teams. Basically the added two games for each team means all the top teams will get two games against other top teams (before teams from pot 1 didn't have games against pot 1 teams).

This kind of format really forces you to have a deep bench. We are in a better position than year ago but not sure how much better, since we will have two more top games in our schedule now (between September and January).

Don't have one.
I think there will be less calculation in this new system, which may contribute to better football overall. When you have a symmetrical and rigid system like the old one, there were a lot of calculations going on, goals scored, conceded, they v beat us with this many goals at home now we have to beat them with this result when they come to us etc...

There is more room to make a mistake now, which again may lead to better football.

I'm not clear if there is any forcing on home/away matches within the pot though.
Does the algorithm make sure there is some fairness in that ? Because if not you might end up with the worst combo of playing both pot1 teams at home and both pot4 teams away
