We are very good against teams playing like City, Real and Barca because of our system. We have problems against teams playing fullbacks + classic wingers that keep overlapping. We get destroyed on the wings because if our CMs drifts too much to cover we get overrun in midfield and if CBs have to cover we leave our defence open. Our wingbacks are left with way less space to go forward as well. Luckily for us not many teams that are left play a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 or any variation of that sort. Also why I preffered Real instead of Atletico.

If it was Atletico vs Arsenal, I think Arsenal could beat them and advance to the next round.
Now I think these games, outside of Bayern-Inter, are pretty straightforward:
PSG
Barca
Real
Bayern/Inter??? Are the semi finalists.

Looks like Bayern-Inter could be the Liverpool-PSG or Madrid-Atletico of 1/4's. The world will be watching us.

they've gone to the final 6 times in the last 11 years, won EVERY single one. that's not luck man they just own the competition, the sooner they get knocked out the better

That's not how football works mate. Nobody is denying their triumph over the years, but there are some occasions where they were more lucky than deserved, just like last night. Stats and records won't make them immune to losing though.

I also blame Simeone for being a coward last night. His team should've gone for second goal, instead of settling for a draw and going to PKs.

It's going to be fun reading your stuff when Arsenal pulls a miracle and knocks Real Madrid out.

Yes and no for me.
We are capable to play against team with fullbacks + classic wingers; the transition is the key, once we are in pure defensive phrase, we are actually very well equipped to handle it, and for transition it depends how well we did on certain contact points when the opponent initiates it. If we kept tracking back and handle it like any transition, normally we get fucked pretty hard cause the problem you pointed out.

it happens way too many times with them though that's why we cant say luck with them. yes i agree atletico was better team yesterday but they didn't finish their chances. just like we were waaaay better than atletico at home leg last year but they still went through. the CL dna bs that bilan fans talk about, it actually applies to madrid. they just find a way somehow no matter how controversial.

you said it yourself it's gonna take a miracle for assna  psg has way better chance though based on what they've shown so far

I mean, you can't argue with results, and for now shit works for Real Madrid, no matter what I'm gonna say here. But let's see what happens in the next phase. CL dna, finals, statistics and everything else, keep it still alive if Real Madrid is going down :D

I wouldn't be so confident on my point if I'd see a team playing like shite and getting away with it. You never know when things start falling apart. Time will tell. But in the pitch, Real Madrid is underwhelming and doesn't look like a team with CL dna. They were still lucky in the 2014 final when Sergio Ramos scored a last minute header, but back then, they looked a real team and they were playing much better. Completely different situation to what they are now.

At some point we have to face top teams of the competition. I really don't care at this point, whoever is our opponent. My biggest concern is our own approach and injury situation. If we have a fully fit squad, I think we could damage anyone. It's not like we're gonna face Barca, Bayern or Real Madrid on their prime. There isn't a single team that seems unbeatable.
