Somehow I feel like our side is more CL like, and the other side is like some weird fun show, but Mbappe vs P$G is intriguing, Aston Villa to final is also something.

Real vs Bayern last season: Neuer made a mistake that only happens once in a thousand years.(Tuchel said)
Real vs ATM this season: Julian touches the ball twice on the penalty spot (first time i see after more than 25 years of watching football)
What curse has come to the opponent Real Madrid?

This is why we should always be qualified for the UCL and make sure our team stays at a high competitive level.
The revenue difference from these competitions is substantial.

Finally watched the Madrid derby second leg...that's such on-brand comically bad luck for Atleti that the decisive kick was an unintentional double touch by Alvarez on the penalty kick, but I've seen enough PK shootouts in my life to know that the moment the taker slips, the risk of a double touch sky rockets. I remember seeing this happen in two PK shootouts in Brazil - one time to Internacional, the other time against Internacional - in the space of a couple months in 2023. It's so hard done because they were the better team, yet somehow at the same time playing 119 minutes at home with the score tied they couldn't make the break-through.

Madrid's black magic knows no bounds.

Are people complaining about Barcelona playing Benfica & 10th placed in the bundesliga Borussia Dortmund team in the knockouts and how easy they have it?

I'm asking because when we were beating Porto, Benfica and Milan in the knockouts, many people had a problem with it and how we had it easy to the final (despite as well practically eliminating Barcelona in the group stage head-to-head) and it was looked down on, even by some posters on this forum.

The only thing I'll say is that Dortmund is a wildcard.

I don't care what other people think. We made it to the final, most of the other teams didn't. We did what we were supposed to do (except score in the final).

Not just qualified but progress as far as we can. Getting eliminated early for the sake of focusing on the league is short sighted and idiotic.

I'm agreeing with all that, now I just hope that we get sell the right players and buy the right players before we fuck up a really good generation we have here.

It would help if Taremi scored a brace in the CL final so that we can sell him to Saudis.

If anybody knows, how much of PSG and Bayern's totals are boosted by playing the two play-off round games that we skipped? I'm not complaining at all of course that we managed to avoid that obviously, but I remember saying before the season even began that, financially speaking, ending up in the play-off round might just be better than a direct top-8 qualification.

I understand you are not complaining, but I think a different way to look at it is if you go by revenue per game, they are significantly worse off.

I understand wages are fixed expense, but there are so much intangible expense that comes with it, which I don't think there is a need to explain, not to mention there are insignificant variable expenses for playing a game.

lol in general its not as much as for us but there's few madrid and liverpool fans complaining. people just look to downplay teams all the time, its just the draw though sometimes you get lucky sometimes dont.
even that year, porto and benfica both finished top of their group and were solid teams but big names bring popularity and discussion so it just got dismissed as lucky.

Porto was ahead of Club Brugge,Bayer and Atletico in group stage. Benfica was ahead of PSG,Juventus and Maccabi. In knockout they won against Club Brugge who was ahead of Bayer and Atletico in group stage. Then we got Milan who in previous rounds won against Tottenham and Napoli who was first in the group ahead of Liverpool,Ajax and Rangers and won Serie A by like 15 points. Easy path my ass.

I wouldn't give anything more than 50% to Bayern. For me it's a 50-50, and that's only because of our lack of depth and issues with injuries, otherwise we would steamroll this Bayern side. But I'm pretty sure Inzaghi will cook, it remains to be seen if our players will deliver.
