I'm worried for the third qualifying round of the Europa League. If Shamrock Rovers (Dublin) beat Bnei Yehuda (Israel) next week then Juve must come to Ireland. Poor Dublin, it already has enough problems with its own peasants without needing more, especially not hunchbacked ones.

Forza Bnei, I know we hate Juve and everything but them going to Israel would kill two birds with one stone for their fans, they could go to watch their team and make a pilgrimage to their homeland at the same time .

i think yes, as far as i know players are not registered until the group stage, so he wont be registered for any european cup...

The rule applies to qualifiers too. Thats why Chygrynsky could not play for Barca in CL last season. But doesn't hurt us as Masch will play in EL qualifiers and not CL; so I guess its fine.

I always hope Juve crash and burn but we have kinda have a problem, we need other Italian clubs to do well :|
Also if they are put out early it means they have to focus on the league rather than having a distraction.

If Mascherano plays for Liverpool in the Europa League, he will still be allowed to play for us in Champions League from the Round of 16 and on. So as long as we get through our group without him, Mascherano can play for us in Champions League. UEFA Super Cup is also exempt from this rule, so he would be eligible for that should he arrive in time:

Subsequent registration

18.17 - For all matches from the start of the round of 16, a club may register a
maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the
current competition. Such registration must be completed by
1 February 2010 at the latest. This deadline cannot be extended.

18.18 - One player from the above quota of three who has played UEFA club
competition matches for another competing club in the current season may
exceptionally be registered, provided that the player has not been fielded:

�� in the same competition for another club; or
�� for another club that is currently in the same competition.

Furthermore, if the player’s new club is playing in the UEFA Europa League,
his former club must not have played in the UEFA Europa League at any
point in the current season.
