Wow they actually lost. I turned the game off at 89 minutes because I knew there was no chance in hell of a late Lazio winner. Actually, both Roman teams conceded at the 95th minute Roma's is more forgivable obviously because they played away to Monchengladbach who are much better than Celtic.

For as much as Serie A has declined, I don't know what person in their right mind thinks Bundesliga deserves it anymore. The top Italian teams are simply better.

The shining light for Bliga were Bayern/BvB and they just aren't anywhere near the same teams they were back in 2013.

When did this happen? Last few seasons, only 1 season Serie A was close to PL in coefficient points.

2017-18 - England 2nd, Italy 3rd. 79 vs 76
2016-17 - England 3rd, Italy 4th - 75.9 vs 73.3
2015-16 - England 3rd, Italy 4th - 76 vs 70
2014-15 - England 2nd, Italy 4th - 80 vs 70
2013-14 - England 2nd, Italy 4th - 84 vs 66

From 2007-08 to 2012-13, gap was always 15-20 points between Serie A and PL. Last time Italy were ahead was in 2005-06.

Start of 2017-18 season it was close as PL was just 0.6 points ahead, I think that was the only time it was close in last 10-15 years.

UEFA brought this rule to protect all top 4 leagues which they shouldn't have.

That's not how it works... You take the 4 year period with the new fresh one blank to see who risks to lose the spot.

Uefa brought this rule only when the PL was threatened to lose its spot. When both Germany and Italy had 3 spots no new rule took place...

The PL had two great seasons after the rule switch whilst both Italy and Germany didn't really do well, so it seems irrelevant at this point. But the rule change was not a coincidence. The PL clubs were threatening to create their own competition and a couple of other clubs were on board with that (Juventus for example).
