What do you guys think??

if i have to choose between cordoba and nico for dm position, then i will go with nico. he has better positioning and marking abilities. cordoba is sure faster, but speed is not an essential attributes for dm, at least if we look at how we played so far and our injured midfielders.
but still, i prefer maxwell more to fill in the 3.
JZ----dacourt----maxwell.
i do not trust figo and recoba either for starting line up in valencia-inter. i hope mancini won't field two right footed players in the left side for that game, like the previous one.

Who saw where Burdisso was playing when he got subbed in for the last 15 mins?

Did I or did I not call Mancini would go for something like that with his CM shortage.

It is a logical move but lets see if he stays with it when he has both Zanetti and Dacourt to count on for the game.

He played dmc. He did an ok job. Nothing fancy.

Exactly we dont need him to do anything fancy just simply pass the ball out to the wings to start moves and destruct opposition moves.

Nobody is asking to turn into Ronaldinho for the game.

I initially thought Cordoba would have been the better option since he is faster and having him out of the backline would be best cause he is bound to cause us problems. But maybe with Burdisso and Dacourt to filter attacks out from in front of him, he might not make as many amateur mistakes.

Mancini read my mind !!! ;) :D and Waleed u got to say Nico is a much better choice than Cordoba - actually any defender is coz Ivan is so uncomfortable on the ball

My idea was more so moving one of our really good CDs into the DM position. I only suggested Corodoba because of his pace. You know I dont like him 1919. I just want him away from the D because he is liable to cause problems back there more so than in the midfield.

Hopefully, if Burdisso does step into the middle then Cordoba wont have as much to deal with so he wont show how easily he can be turned. Villa must have been watching that and laughing his ass off cause he now knows how easily to get the better of him. He was complicating it for himself in the first game all he has to do is go back to the striker basics and he will slaughter him.

Valencia again today proved that they are a pretty poor team when they have to make the game themselves..

It would probably be easiest to play counterattack against them..but somehow Inter is too strong for doing that. Pressing from the beginning, allowing them as little space as possible and striking with a good rate is more than needed. But Valencia is really not in Inter's class....Inter should and must make it through, as Valencia is very little of a team, if you don't give them the possibilities to counterattack.

With Valencia having the 2 away goals we can't afford to play the counter attacking game.

Inter is the superior team but the superior doesn't always qualify. This game will need character from the boys.

yes...I'm sort of aware of that..but then again, Valencia have lost this season either against defensive/CAing teams like Real, or teams that play more or less full pressing and make the field small like Getafe.

I feel the best way for Inter to win this game is just to play our game and not give away free kicks close to the box. For most part fo the first leg we kept valencia out while creating chances for our selves. The danger they created came from 2 f/k's we gave away. We need to be carefull about that.

Don't forget we lost against Villareal by just a freak freekick!! And conceded 2 goals from deadballs against Valencia! It's CL. You easily get eliminated by these incidents!

I really want to ask this silly question, can Maicon play the DM role for a game? He got the pace, and physical build, sounds perfect to play him there. Then may be shift Cordoba to RB and Burdisso to CD.

So what?! Maybe Mancini could use it at the other time but not in the most important match of this period!

Cordoba as DM??? :dielaugh:

C'mon Waleed, i mean Cordoba???!!! I can understand your reasons but... the man has no technique, no passing abilites, terrible sense for the game..I mean DM is still a midfielder, and not everbody can play there... infact being DM is so much more than just defending - you got to know how to impose the game, you got to start up the moves... And you thought of Cordoba??? that's a sin man, seriously... I would rather put Julio Cesar there!
Burdisso could do the job, but i wil agree with lucifer (that doesn't sound good, change that nick bro :p ) - i would rather go with Maxwell..
or maybe even Solari...

totally agree....a midfielder even if hes a DM...has to be somewhat comfortable on the ball....
I dont see Cordoba making even simple regulatory passes well over there..forget starting any attacks..
