The Good:
- Sneijder tried hard and seems motivated to do well. his passing game is vital for us.
- Guarin's workrate and commitment
- Silvestre had his best game for us thus far
- Cambiasso looks a little more fit, covered more ground and scored a nice goal
- Palacio's movement, effort, and ability to find space. Also, he proved his capability again as a "vice-milto"
- Nagatomo's crossing has seemingly improved
- Castellazzi looked secure and made some great saves
- Il Captano still shows no real signs of aging

The Bad:
- Our set piece in both attack and defense isn't great
- Rano still lacks confidence and still seems prone to his lapses in concentration
- Milito still needs a goal
- Our over reliance on the long ball
- Nagatomo's defensive frailties rared their ugly head once again
- If Maicon does stay he probably will not have the motivation we would like him to have
- The whole team faded again.
- Guarin's shooting continues to be rather terrible.

Anyways, a win and probably progression to the next round. And congrats to Ill Captano on 800 games :proud:

Didn't see the game as was working all day :( but glad to see a positive result. Palacio seemingly continues to be one of our best players, if not the best. Cool as a cucumber on that second goal even though he initially got the Sneijder pass a bit wrong.

Barring another pathetic performance at the Meazza, we should be looking at Europa League group stages. Better than nothing.....

as things stand milito should be the vice-palacio and not vice versa...

and for all the complaining about ranocchia, you guys are just over exaggerating, he played a very decent match today...

capitano is a legend...never stops

I don't think Frog was bad, he even eas good in the 1st half but in second half almost everyone wasn't good, so i can't see reason to blame him in somthing. he also played few games with Matias(I love him) and they need to play more together.

I think Palacio need to be our CF for now, he is the one who get chances and score goals while Milito just goes to the wing everytime.

but, we have a good team. we played today without Ricky, Handanovic(Castelazzi was very good), Gargano, Pereira, Obi and of course Cassano. with them, i think we do well this year. Forza Inter.

We've got to remember that Vaslui have played 5 games already this season we're not at a 100% but we did quite well, I'm happy. I don't want to see any Hajduk repeats at Meazza though that was disastrous.

BEAUTIFUL INTER!!

Europa League – Cambiasso and Palacio: 2-0 against Vaslui.
After Split, another positive test for the team of Stramaccioni.

INTER EXPORT

Cambiasso and Palacio in goals. Argentinian tango in Romania.
After the games against Split, another beautiful performance away against Vaslui.
Like the aggressive attitude from the start. Entry into group stage is closer.

Piatra Neamt – We want to imagine that a week from last night at the San Siro, there will not be another game like that one on August 9 against Hajduk Split. Let’s look back. The Nerazzurri had a comfortable win away, more or less just like last night, but then at the San Siro, Inter were free falling like without a parachute and almost fall flat on their faces. And perhaps this is good because the Nerazzurri in Romania, couldn’t get beyond the 2-0 lead even though that they could definitely get a third goal (a denied penalty, Palacio was denied by the post and missed another good opportunity) just like in Croatia. Perhaps this will be a further guarantee to remain vigilant ahead of the time of the return leg when Stramaccioni will have one more card to play: Antonio Cassano.

More running It cannot be said that yesterday the Hajduk lesson was needed which will be important thing to keep in mind. It can be said that, exactly like the game against Hajduk at the beginning of August, Inter were good for long stretches. Then Stramaccioni’s boys were not to be intimidated when the Romanians tried to make the game more physical and turned it up to a certain roughness level. The worst fears of this game seemed exaggerated and the credit was, beyond the limits of the Romanians, due to a proper game management, a good continuity of concentration, and an improved condition athletically. The last one was the most clear because when you compare to two weeks ago at the San Siro, Inter ran more and just better overall physically.

Superior quality Inter, before and after the 1-0, did what they had to do which was also what they like: holding on to the ball, taking advantage of individuals who won many key duels thanks to their superior technical qualities, governing the game by dribbling the ball and occupying lots of spaces when on the attack. Which was the best way to prevent the type of football Vaslui wanted to play and that are using the power of the two dams in front of the defense in Varela and N’Doye, gaining possession on the wings, and focusing on the inspirations of Stanciu.

Moment of blackout The aggression by Inter (a chance for Palacio and a penalty not given within 3 minutes) was a clear signal launched to Vaslui. However, that certainly did not last. The hammering of Maicon and Sneijder took a break after providing for at least one hour of quality football against the defensive wall of Vaslui. And it was precisely between the 68th and 70th minute that the moment of disorientation came. That moment allowed a frenzied reaction of Vaslui which gave birth to two good scoring chances. Chances that could tie the game and trouble Inter at the final minutes.

The pill of Wes Without any other midfielders available for Stramaccioni to use to close the middle down (lost Mudingayi after 20 minutes and Zanetti was moved to the midfield), the Italian coach shockingly reshaped Inter by putting in Coutinho for Milito. Precisely at this moment where Inter suffered the most, the Dutch pulled a pill out of his pocket for any impending headache: a great assist for Palacio and Vaslui were once again in purgatory. The paradise of the Europa League for Inter is waiting but that evil last night was needed.

True, if they were in their right mind, they would say "Ranocchia and Maicon were bad today"

Did i see another match or what?

Ranocchia made only 1 mistake in that missed clearance in the 2nd half and that's it.
Some of you seem to watch Rano with a zooming loupe waiting for a mistake.

For me he has been great all this preseason and i'm waiting to see him against a worthy opponent.

As for the match , nothing to say really. Most of this EL opponents are too weak for us so giving evaluations for our players it's hard. Anyway our gameplay is pretty straightforward. We have 2 options :
1. Slow build-up play , starting with possession from our defenders , simple passes to the various Cambi , Mudy , Zanetti in midfield and when the ball gets to Guarin or Sneijder the speed changes and we go in a quick attack exploiting the off ball movement of our strikers.
2.Long ball to the forwards , trying to get the opponent unprepared or exploit the rebound of the ball

I'm curious to see how much space are going to find in Serie A our creative AM. Basically our attacking movement is composed of the 2 attacking full backs + 2 AM + the striker + Guarin and attacking with 6 players and defending with 4 is not bad.

The error Rano did, should never happen as before the ball was crossed in we should had freekick as some of Vaslui players choped inter player down without the ref doing anything about it, but yes Rano was solid and Silvesre is good at passing as well, solid play from our defense
