The second we went to three D. With guarin and medel alone in center midfield. The game was done. Those two can not play against decent competition. It's not their fault. They are not good enough.

Palacios miss was bad. Him not simply passing the ball to icardi for a tap in is even worse.

To be honest, he was decent at times. Hit or miss, but he's far too inconsistent to be a starter away to the hottest forward in Europe. Let alone benching one of the world's best goalkeepers. This is just madness, Mancini cost us the tie more than anyone else with his arrogance.

Don't lose hope people... from what I've heard from some pretty serious posters in this forum about this game, we had good link up play in the first half. This for me, is essential for the team to grow.

We are starting to build up dense football (1-2 touches, societies in the field), not Bayernesque or Barcelonaesque, but something that gives hope. Yeah we suck in defense but at least we don't suck in every department as in Mazzarri times. We'll need to buy some defenders and second striker for next season and I THINK we might have chances on getting the 3rd spot next season.

The only thing that worries me is that without UCL money... we may not have the money to spend on those players we need.

I was predicting 3-1 before the game, then while watching the first half I really believed we were going to win or tie. It's a shame it ended like that because winning 2-0 now is a hard task, especially if Carrizo starts again.
