That's because he is not THAT bad. Fans are overacting. AND he is being misused.

His job in Napoli was to run, cover space, win the ball, and give it to Hamsik/Zuniga/Maggio/Inler, depending WHERE he won the ball and who is his NEAREST player. Rarely ran with the ball, and even more rarely was sending long passes forward.

Now, we all know, and i can't really explain again.

The Team
Gargano is a bad player in terms of passing and dribbling. His job needs to be just as Pajo mentioned, a destroyer with lots of energy to run back and forth and pas it off to someone nearby not a Guarin type launch. Numerous times he gets crap about why he can't pass to save his life but our midfield isn't full of Xavi's or Pirlo's. I assume Strama makes him take it up and then try to pass it off in the opponent's third if he even gets that far.

I support his longer-term commitment to Inter, he brings the energy, the drive and relentless pressure on the other teams' distributor and dribblers. Even if he doesn't stay a starter he's great off the bench in moments when the other team is desperate for an attack and now they have Gargano to deal with who is just as hungry for the ball. If our midfield gets at least one good distributor who can pair with Kova or Guarin, Gargano can make their job easier by being the guy who actually plays defense and then making the short pass to our own distributors to counter attack.

They don't get along. Don't be surprised if he leaves even after we buy him.

What's the beef about?

I don't think there's a particular incident you can point to. But Mazzarri and Gargano never really saw eye to eye. That's the main reason he left Napoli. Mazzarri also had some problems with Cavani. He's not always the most loved, but he gets the players to play one way or another.

I was a big fan of his. Its clear when utilized properly he is a solid player. May not be starting material next year, but he can be great bench option.

Yeah, but i'd still not buy him. I think Duncan can do everything Gargano can. If not now, in near future for sure.

He won't stay anyway, he left Napoli just because of Mazzarri, i doubt they will work together again.

If Mazzari wants him to stay, than ok.

Other options for him staying here, like the "gentleman" agreement, or some other "good relations with the clubs", or any sort of that crap whatsoever - NO.

Definitely. If Mazzarri doesnt like him in the team, it would be utter bull shit to buy him.

I think there may be a verbal agreement to sign him similar to Silvestre.
