I was not impressed yesterday by Roma despite they won against Sampdoria tho. Sampdoria played worse than Sassuolo vs us. They could not pass more than 2 players but somehow they still manage to press Roma.

what i dont get is why taider gets to play instead of kova, and what duties does walt give to kova when he puts him to play...

i dont believe kova is a player that wont obey or is unable to do so, i just see him wondering all the time...

Kova fitness is evidently unable to bear full match.

He would be able to under any other coaches, but under Mazzarri's methodology it is more difficult.

Just be more patient with him, he didnt have preseason.

Mazzarri loves his B2B midfielders. Always has. And Taider has the potential to be a good one. Kovacic's lack of a preseason because of injuries has hurt him but it seems like he's almost back to normal again. I'm sure Mazza will find a way to get Kova more involved. It's a long season.

Right after the final whistle, when he entered the exit in a hurry, like he used to do, you could see for a moment on TV that he was celebrating like crazy.
It was so cute.....no homo.

Mazzarri's made a great start, but I have to wonder whether he's here for the long term. He clearly prefers more physical midfielders, judging by his selection of Taider and Guarin over Kovacic, even though Guarin has been less than stellar. But our academy seems to produce a lot of ball-playing midfielders – Duncan impressed at Livorno, Benassi did well with his professional cameos, Crisetig is getting his career back on track, and we also have Acampora, Tassi, and Olsen, among others, still waiting in primavera. What are we to do with a bunch of MFs who are simply not Mazzarri's style?

Sell them to Serie B or German clubs.

And Kova is still playing and will continue to play. I don't know why this has become such an issue, Mazzarri clearly likes Kova from his comments and sees the potential. He has a plan for him lets see how he implements it.

Montella was almost able to tactically outfox Mazzarri, tbh. His team were always pressuring our backline, leaving us no not much options other than playing direct long ball to Palacio-Alvarez. Since they are not so good at aerial duel, Fiorentina managed to retrieve the ball easily at many occasions. Most of our dangerous threat were coming from violent counter attack after our players (who are visibly physically stronger but skillfully weaker) managed to steal the ball from them. Had they had more solid defense, it would have been a different result.

The difference in the flow of the game was visible especially after the introduction of Kova in second half. Literally, he was our best player in holding the possession. There were maybe around 3-4 moments in which he successfully released himself from Fiorentina's constant pressure. What a talent. Hopefully, he keeps consistent in this path, since his talent are too precious to be wasted on the bench (not mention he also seemed to have decent set-piece ability, of which we are currently lacking)

Not really tbh. We were under pressure because our midfield did not function as it should. Guarin and Taider played bad we let a lot of balls away to the opponent. That's why we were under pressure, we should take the initiative if Guarin and Taider play like they are supposed to play. We controlled them well in the first 10-15 mins. Tactically Montella couldn't do anything, it was us who gave them chances.

I'd like to admit I was wrong about Mazzarri. Not jumping on his cock yet but the difference in this team compared to early pre-season and Strama is incredible.

What Montella had to do when Guarin and Taider kept passing balls to Borja and friends instead to another Inter player? If we could maintain our passing we could get the possession. It's not like they tiki-taka around our players, their chances came from counter attack from our mistakes as we were unable to hold on our possession.

In the first 15 minutes we created like 5-6 chances to score but we failed. Then came the wrong passes from Guarin and Taider, until we got a little bit better in the last 10 minutes of first half when Ricky suddenly woke up.
