Indeed.

Otherwise we were happy to sit back and absorb pressure. They didnt really create anything from that. Still, we need to brush up a bit to avoid these mistakes that could ruin our whole approach.

Just get used to the fact that we are a counter attack team and we use athletes to launch counter. In doing that, possession really doesnt matter to our team, because we can create from counter attacks, possession isnt the only way to win games.

Did you see that 5v2 counter, brilliant football from us. It is a shame it ended with a scrappy shot, but this efficiency with our counter attacks can be improved as the season goes on.

so we didn't win, it's them who lost? :chan:

Yep, seeing that we're better than them they deliberately decided to lose this game so order in the universe is restored and we don't lose.

Somehow, it's his fault we didn't win in the end, because I thought he would throw on Taider, but that would be harsh to say. It's obvious he would expect his own team to keep it calm til the end, but Cagliari seriously have some team up front, it was a hard game and we played a lot better than we did against Fiorentina.

Now it's time for a short pause and then for us to rape Roma.

I think he took off Alvarez too early. Early second half we were lack of the efforts Ricky would have done.

I think he wanted to give Kovacic 90 minutes, but he doesn't trust the midfield without the physical presence of Guarin and Cambiasso. I can't really fault him for any of his decisions today.

Tbh with our past coaches I've almost pulled out my hair, due to their decisions. But with Mazzari he did not make any major errors. I remember thinking during the game what Inter could have done to score a goal. The CF point of reference was an obvious one, and he did that. It was clear that there was no huge gap of quality between our players and Cagliari, add a waterlogged pitch to that which hindered players like Alvarez and Kova.

Sometimes it's just not the coaches fault. I remember people were saying Heynckes had his tactics right for the Chelsea-Bayern, but it just wasn't his night. And we all know what happened next season.

Mazzarri: "We'd started well, shame: we needed to be more clinical"

"Perhaps we weren't accurate enough and tried to be too cute at times. And their keeper saved everything. As for Montella..."

TRIESTE - "The lads started well despite the fact the pitch was heavy and that occasionally made playing difficult, but we knitted some nice moves together, and it's a shame as we deserved to take the lead in the first half. The lads played well and their keeper saved everything: perhaps we weren't accurate enough and tried to be too cute at times, slipping before shooting first, then being halted by a puddle. We need to be meaner, more clinical, that's what I'd say to the guys if I really had to say something. But I can't complain," said Walter Mazzarri as he spoke to Sky Italia after the match.

He was then asked to comment on Belfodil's performance, as the forward started the game: "Belfodil did well until he got tired. The young guys need a bit of time to take off, that's the difference between them and established stars."

Mazzarri was then told about Vincenzo Montella's comments regarding Inter and their coach: "Clearly he wants to show that he's always calm, he didn't feel good at the end of the match or he wasn't: I said that Fiorentina can compete for the Scudetto. Unlike him, I didn't say so before the match, I didn't respond to him when he spoke about Inter, now he's still at it and he's talking without checking his facts, Inter have the third highest wage bill, not the second. Plus we should mention that Inter's wage bill has been cut from 190 million to 80 million, and that other teams have gone past us. These are facts, but if he wants to talk about other clubs' business...".

wtf did Montella say about is exactly? Cos I'm kinda annoyed about this girl fight that Mazzarri is having with Montella.

But Mazzarri is right, he needs our team to be more of a stone cold killer.

could be a little bit of Mourinhoesque media game, to let the team prepare in quiet.

I'm just glad we gave someone who's actually going to speak up on behalf of our club this season. Besides the Juve remarks Strama was to much of a nice guy to speak out in the media and Moratti's never been the type. Our club lacks a backbone without a strong coach as his been proven since Mourinho's departure.
