hi and welcome! we certainly could do much better. i mean, right now we are competing with the likes of roma and lazio for a champions league spot. in the long run, if we make the right moves, we will be back to something at least close to what we were. it's gonna take 3-4 years though, best case scenario. well, at least that's how i see it.

I agree with you firmino. I am also sure that, if everything goes at it should, in a couple of years we'll be challenging the Serie A top spots and probably doing great in Europe.

If Napoli was able to build up a team like the one they have now, we should totally be able to do at least the same!

Napoli has a strong philosophical base. They also have a strong core team that is driven by passion and tactics.

Inter Milan is treated as a corporation, and receives businessmen instead of players. These "players" aren't here to win, score goals or win titles. They're at Inter to get Real Madrid and PSG to watch them, and to make a lot of money. Meanwhile, Napoli is treated as a football club and attracts players that want to do what it takes to reach glory with the team.

Well, they're doing a bang up job.

Napoli and glory in the same sentence seem so weird. I think Napoli and choking is much better.

Still think their players are proud to sport that ugly ass logo graveyard. More than can be said for our wonderful brigade of wanna-be superstars.

After Napoli choke away the Scudetto again this year, their team will begin to fall apart. Sarri will leave for Chelsea.

I don’t think Sarri would do well in England, too old school imo. Won’t learn English and will demand to smoke cigarettes in ridiculous places.

According to James Horncastle, Sarri has been learning English over the last 12 months. He could be a good choice for Chelsea. Plays good football and more importantly doesn't bitch and moan about transfers.

I see your point, but IMO Napoli is not a club that has different core philosophy than we do, or any other big club has.
For me this is best seen in players like Higuain. He was played in Real Madrid before playing for Napoli, and as soon as he had the opportunity, he left for Juventus. And a good deal of Napoli's signings the last seasons were done around Higuain.
But they have done things quite well. They have a strong team and it's not by chance.

Last match was a perfect example of how our issue is mainly mental.

Gagliardini and Brozovic had a strong match after so many time playing like shit. Perisic and Candreva, on the other hand, had a terrible match. If all of them had played at least reasonably close to their technical skill, we'd most probably have won this and so many past matches.
