i hv made several posts and apparently it has fallen to deaf ears ... so i decided 2 make a new topic.
off late, there hv been a few users who r just spoiling the essence of our forum with their one-liners, which are basically typing as if u r chatting ... sum of them r newcomers, sum r "terminal cases"
i again request the mods to do sumthing bout these peep, whu in my eyes r only diff from normal spammers coz they luv the nerazzuri.
and plzz send them the links of yahoo msngr or msn msngr. for gods sake this is nt a chatroom
delete posts ... just do sumthing. we must realise that we r the best and most popular english-speaking fansite of fc inter ... and we shud hv certain standards bout the content we carry.
i say once again ...

Quality over quantity

1919, you have absolutely NO IDEA of how many posts per day we delete. So we are indeed active when it comes to this.

Not to mention their selection of moderators you guys have, who are practically all away at the same time.

I wouldnt call that moderation.

Either way 911, i agree with you but we already have a thread for this.

Well, what can we do about it? None of us can be here 24/7, and Durai and the likes can post 500 one-liners in the space of one hour. And if we ban them, I'm pretty sure we'd get bashed by some members as well.

We're doing our best, we are very active and is having ongoing discussions to solve this problem. We also delete soooo many posts per day that it's ludicrous. In fact, we take time off work, from the summer to sit here and delete posts all day. And still we get crap because we don't do enough.

Just take the example of when we removed Durai's posts and he stopped posting alltogether. The management was immediately criticised.

Yeah a noticed a few topics that were short of Durai's posts after some other members and I replied to him! It seems like we were talking to ourselves, but there used to be Durai posts there :D

A suggestion: Most new members try to post too much to find out what the Multimedia Forum is. Why don't you make it viewable to ALL members, but members with no posts at all, or that just view Multimedia Forum, get deleted or something, so the purpose is still on I guess.(not giving away links)
And if people misbehave on MM forum, then the same rule should apply(ban or delete) I think you should consider trying something like this ;)

Durai, this has been a problem for two months, not two days. And you are BY FAR the worst one out there when it comes to oneliners and spamming. You shouldn't ignore the criticism our management receives for not dealing with people like you, you should perhaps think "Hell, I really am guilty of spamming and makes people waste hours during the summer cleaning up my mess".

By blatantly saying you haven't done anything in two days, shows that you really have no clue of what people are talking about when they say you spam.

So continue like you've done the last two days (although, I've had to delete some of your pointless posts in the last two days too), and perhaps this issue won't be a problem for anyone of us anymore.

Stefan, no clue, Tim is the expert when it comes to technical issues.

The following is unacceptable:

1) Mods have to waste lots of time deleting posts

2) Mods aren't able to enjoy the forums as they should because they have to spend so much time deleting posts

3) Mods are open to criticism whatever they do

This is why I suggested ages ago that we agreed on some new rules about spamming.

If you ask me, mods should be able to issue a warning after they notice somebody is spamming. After all, some people might be genuine, they might be used to different forums where you open a new thread every two seconds.

These people could respond well to a warning and stop spamming straight away.

If they don't, bans should be put in place. Maybe just a one day ban for starters, and increase it if they persist.

If we have no rules and mods get criticism every time they ban, how can we ask them to act to improve the situation? They're either in charge or they're not.

At the moment all they can do is take out the trash that Durai and co. keep throwing around the forums. Thing is, the trash is not the problem, is the people throwing it around that need sorting out.

It's only a matter of time anyway, mods must have more power. The forums are growing and if they can't act to keep things reasonable, they're gonna get out of hand (as they are now) and people are just gonna stop coming around.

My brother goes on Milan forums, they're about 3 times as big as these but hey, mods there ban people for spamming, I mean permanent bans. Anything near racial, banned.

I don't want our forums to get that extreme but hey, if somebody comes here to mess things up instead of giving a contribution, action should be taken.

Now, for those who are still clueless about what a spam post or a one-liner post are, my post above is one example. If you are to agree with someone on a subject, please explain why and give the reason. :) Otherwise, please send the user a PM instead of posting. We have added the new PM button, in case you haven't noticed.

Sayak, if it weren't up to me and Jimmy, Durai would walk all over Hamed when it comes to post count by now. :D Even though we may looked like we ignore them, I assure you that alll of the suggestions you guys put in the forum are discussed further by the mods in the Mod forum. We appreciate all of them, don't worry. :) As of now, we're working on setting a "character limit per post" solution. The technical issue is not as simple as 1-2-3, y'know. Thank the Gods we have Tim on that. :D

I am still against the banning of spammers but this does not mean that it will not change forever. In the future, if the case is so bad, then we may implemet such an extreme rule.

one suggestion from me is that u cant post in the same thread more than once in every 45 mins or 1 hour.
u can edit ur single post as often as u like
this for threads other than the match threads.
is that possible???

I'm afraid such an option is not possible. The only possible one is to adjust the time between one post and the next one, in all forums.

Good idea and all but what happens if you are having a discussion with several people at a time and you want to make a response to each one and they post at different times, like in response to your comment? Basically what I am trying to say that even though it would cut down on the number of posts it would also decrease the overall quality of the discussions.

Han, is it my problem? I only see the new PM button under my own posts. (and I'm schizophrenic enough to PM myself :p )

Are you sure you don't see the "Send a PM" button in other members' post?

Actually, don't spend time fixing this if it's only my problem. I won't use it very often anyway. I just want to make sure that it is available to other members.

I have that "problem" too. Is everything fine with your PM thing, Handoyo?
