when serie a first started coming on english tv milan and inter were fighting it out for the title, the presenter said ac milan have the easier fixture run in so i rooted for inter as underdogs, just fell in love with them from there.

always seem like get less attention than milan and juve so always kept that underdog sort of mentality even though we are a giant.

I always followed Mazzarri and knew that one day he would be the savior of Inter so I decided to follow before he arrived at Inter to get accustom to what he'd face.

Was a United fan once then I saw Internazionale, Matrix crowning Vieri and I just fell in love. It was love at first sight.

Here in Australia on a Sunday morning in the early 1990s, they used to have three hours on SBS dedicated to football. The first hour was dedicated to European Football, the second hour to Italian football and the last hour to the rest of the world. My favourite hour was that dedicated to Serie A. Back then Italian football was new to me and on a weekly basis, I would watch the match of the week and the highlights that followed.

For some reason, when Inter played I payed closer attention and I started to get attached to the colours of our jersey and the players. It was season 1990-1991 and Inter were fighting with Sampdoria for the Scudetto. I remember a featured match in Milan that was crucial for the championship, it may have even been against Sampdoria. Matthaus was carried off on a stretcher with a knee injury and I think we missed a penalty, lost the game and any chance of winning the Championship.

I was 14 years old and sat in front of the TV and cried. I have supported Inter ever since.

Inter's starting eleven as I remember them: Zenga, Paganin, Bergomi, Ferri, Brehme, Berti, Matthaus, Bianchi, Serena, Fontolan and Klinsmann.

I don't remember how I started rooting for Inter, but I do remember when I fell in love with Inter ....or when I got aware that I love this club.

5.5.2002. Nuff said.

I recall that game like it was yesterday. sampdoria destroyed us, it was Matthaus that missed the penalty. I still have the newspaper cut out from that day. I too was absolutely guttered.

Gutted* - adjective, bitterly disappointed or upset. Guttered is when you end up in the gutter after drinking too much on a Saturday night in Newcastle.

This is an awesome story. Showing how emotionally invested we all can get for our favorite teams. Thanks for sharing.

I was on holiday on Lake Garda at the time of the 2010 Champions League Final. My youngest son was not quite 2 years old, so we had all that magic of being in my beloved Italy, along with the magic of my son still being a baby. I watched the final in the hotel bar with my eldest son, surrounded by a lot of Bayern fans. Being in Italy I routed for the Italian team and, the following day, all the ( beautiful )towns and villages were decked in Inter flags and banners. In short, Inter will always be associated with some of my favourite holiday memories and I, too, am now a dyed-in-the-wool fan. Forza Inter!

Well, becoming an Inter fan after the CL final might be the most band wagonist way of doing it possible but rooting for the least supported team where you are is certainly interista worthy so that's a nice story. :)

Yep, Wobblz, got on the wagon while it was running to perfection but, despite some of the wheels and axles becoming shoddy in the meantime, I've never dreamt of getting off ;)

One reason I chose to support Inter:

Hernan Crespo!
