Aaaahhhh I see what you did there it was very clever. winter as in "win"ter or w"inter". As in inter and win are antonyms.

Sometimes you can see "W Inter" or "W whatever" where the W stands for Viva. So...there's a third meaning in there. ;)

Semi is Colombia vs Brazil and Argentina vs Germany

I really want England out in 1st round

Chile going to get out of their group out on top.

All 5 South American teams are out of their group. Ecuadors group is a joke.

Argentina vs Germany in the semifinals would automatically mean on paper that Germany would reach the final, because in 2006 and 2010 Argentina really sucked badly against Germany.

No offense - but I really don´t want Germany to win the World Cup 2014.
For some reasons I don´t like their NT and I don´t like their DT.

As for Group D I feel a little bit unsure about the Uruguay-Italy pairing.
Uruguay won the last friendly against Italy in Rome 0-1, but were a bit unlucky to lose the penalty shootout during the ConfedCup a few months ago.

I concur with that statement. Looking forward to hopefully reaching the knockout round again like 2006.

Argentina
Bosnia
Iran
Nigeria
:notbad: for Iran tbh. We're going to park the bus against Messi and Co.But we will fight for the second place with Bosnia and Nigeria. All in all we are happy to be there while many countries are absent.

You have a good chance of getting through. Nations who aren't so strong should crave groups like this, where Argentina should cruise through on 9 points and the others will fight it out for second spot.

Bosnians are going to wreck havoc and make it out of the group. Heard it here first.

Qualifiers need to be different

2 Asian and 2 North Americans qualify directly. The other 1.5 spots they got should go to play against Africa another euro.

4th place Asia and North America should play their bs knock out against a bs team like they do against New Zeland then have to beat last euro or African team.

Or fifa just have the balls to merge North and South America. Give us 8 spots and maybe US will make the WC.

Mexico won 2 games and makes the WC!!!! How is that fair?

Asia has 4.5 spots...

So you want to give Africa even more spots? They have good players, but their teams haven't done enough to justify more than 5 spots. Including the 6th best side in Africa or the 14th best side in Europe over the 4th/5th best side in AFC doesn't make it a significantly better competition in terms of quality and makes it a less worldly tourney.

The current balance is right. UEFA is both the most successful confederation and one of the biggest ones. CONMEBOL is second most successful but has by far the smallest membership, so 4.5 is fair. AFC, CAF, and CONCACAF are large confederations but have only a few decent teams each.

Fuck off with your BS arguments everytime. This is WC, not South America and Europe cup. If a team from South America (that is superior to North America teams) don't qualify that means they are not good enough from their region to play in WC. Simple as that.

Next what you want? Play teams only from South America and Europe and everyone to suck Colombian dicks?

Let the irrational nationalistic analysis of WC begin...

http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/worldcupcentral/id/1682?cc=5901

It may have become a well-worn draw cliché, but there’s no doubt the group of death remains, as it were, alive and kicking in 2014. Football hipsters may be drooling over the possibility of watching Ecuador's tactical duels with Honduras and Switzerland, but the wider public hankers for heavyweight scraps. The 2014 World Cup group stage has obliged, with Group G -- containing Germany, Portugal, Ghana and the United States -- pipping Group B (Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia) and Group D (Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy).

Could it be the deadliest group ever seen at the World Cup? It certainly appears to be a cut above 1978's grupo de la muerte of Argentina, Italy, France and Hungary, as all four of 2014’s Group G sides reached the second round in South Africa four years ago.

Deadliest group ever? It's not even the deadliest group at this World Cup.
