Showed up when he had to.
how many goals he caused due to a bad pass then ? i'm speaking about obvious blunders directly or indirectlyThis guy had a game just last year where he saved 19 Bayern shots on net...that he's a good shot stopper should come as a surprise to nobody. It's some of the other stuff that is a little more potentially problematic - I will never trust the ball at his feet - but not the shot stopping part of the game.

On the other hand, given all the fuckery that happens when we play Bologna as it is, I'm just waiting for Sommer/Zirkzee part due:
Yeah, I can't believe he didn't at least parry it away. Horrible.First goal tonight was a howler. Let’s call a spade a spade. I was very disappointed to see that mistake from him. It really reopened the match. It’s tough to say what happens if we don’t give up that easy goal and have to go chase a goal again.

Exactly, nice that someone brings this up. We were a bit lazy there in defence to allow that shot in the first place, but it was Sommer's goal.First goal tonight was a howler. that's why I was a bit worried when the news linking us with Sommer were popping up. He has solid periods but a howler is no rarirty for himExactly, nice that someone brings this up. We were a bit lazy there in defence to allow that shot in the first place, but it was Sommer's goal.
As for the Salernitana match, did someone else saw that Salernitana goal (offside by VAR) was a bit weak by Sommer again? Like how do you come off the goal to that ball? Shouldn't do it like that.
I noticed that as well. I’m certainly not blown away by him so far. It’s obvious he is a stop gap for a year before we go find a long term replacement. The question is who will that be? We don’t exactly have money to spend big on the goalkeeper position. The guy from Brazil we made a bid for last window seemed interesting.Exactly, nice that someone brings this up. Pretty sure most people already acknowledged that it was his mistake in the match thread...Exactly, nice that someone brings this up. We were a bit lazy there in defence to allow that shot in the first place, but it was Sommer's goal.

I don't read match threads.Pretty sure most people already acknowledged that it was his mistake in the match thread...
Not sure about that offsides goal though seeing it live i though coming off the line was the right decision, then somehow the strker scored and i had to re asses..
Watching it again after the game it looks a lot like our defenders stopped playing cause offsides and thats the only reason the salernitana player was at the ball before sommer....
I could be wrong though just my two cents.
Like what were you guys expecting? This is Sommer he s a very good keeper but just not worldclass and he ll never reach the hights of a JC/samir/Toldo in their prime. Like he s playing pretty much how i expected him to play.
Also side note just from his interviews it sounds a lot like he s gonna be our number 1 for more than just this season.
I don't want to take anything away from Sommer but Onana did many of such saves last season. Still Onana isn't getting any credit for that, only hateThat save he pulled today after the throw in hiccup... my oh my, should be the save of the week for sure
