Zanetti and Maicon: Who Was the Better Right Back?

I think these two arent for comparing
Cause one Is a Fucking LEGEND. The word legend tells you all
And the other one is a 3 season Wonder.. like Bale, like Sanchez , Cassano...
These players are fun to watch but they are not consistent and not reliable at all..
While players like Zanetti , Maldini, Lahm ... are very RARE to find and are priceless

Younger Zanetti was a CHAD and also scored a few scorchers. And the longevity showed how awesome he was. Not that great at crossing or passing in general, compared to Maicon. Amazing in defence, which is why there aren't a lot of players that got the better of him.

...while I'd even go on a limb and say Maicon only had one real world class season and I was all for selling him for huge money after the 09/10 season. I loved the dude, he was amazing in attack and I'll say he wouldn't be as good if he didn't have Zanetti and/or Cambiasso behind him. I believe we made a big mistake not selling to Real Madrid. Good thing we have better management nowadays and we sold Lukaku at the right time (shame we use to pay off debt lul).

If I had to choose one to play today, obviously Maicon would be the better choice for a wingback. But as far importance to the team goes, it's Zanetti all the way. Was Zanetti a better RB? Nah. I thought I was gonna vote for Javier easily, but I can't. So nobody gets a vote from me, because it wouldn't feel right.

Maicon without a shred of doubt for me, Zanetti was a top 3 RB at his prime don't get me wrong but what the use of dribbling and running past defenders when you lack the skill for the final product (pass). Zanetti's biggest flaw and most striking flaw, remember at times how his crosses were amateur level at best.

There was a reason why Zanetti was moved to MF to accommodate Maicon afterall.

I agree with you. However, Zanetti was better defensively, IMO.
