horrible, 2 acl in such a young age, those screams are painful to hear
but injury aside we have buyback clause for this guy next summer
I do think this is another "gentleman agreement" so we are going to be "forced" to buy him back
this is going to be very expensive for us

His screams are truly horrific, I cannot imagine the pain he felt :moan:

Former Inter defender Zinho Vanheusden is at risk of suffering a serious injury after being taken off in a game today on a stretcher, as seen in a video posted by Dutch football broadcaster Eleven Sports NL on Twitter.

Standard Liege are afraid that he may have torn his ACL, forcing him to miss a large part of this season. It is poor luck for the 21-year-old, who recently celebrated his debut with the Belgium national team.

“His knee was swollen and the doctors told him to go home. He will do tests to see what has happened. I hope with all my heart it is not such a bad thing,” Dussenne explained to broadcaster Eleven Sports, following on from the match, in which he scored a late winner for the home side.

“It is terrible for boys like Bokadi or me. I didn’t even dare go see, because I know what it’s like to see someone scream like that with knee pain. You already know what it is especially when you’ve been through it. This victory is for him.”

Vanheusden is a product Standard Liege’s youth academy but was signed by Inter Primavera and sold to Standard after a successful loan spell. Inter do however maintain an option to buy him back which expires this coming summer. This season the 21-year-old, who is Standard Liege captain, has made 13 appearances across all competitions to date.

EDIT: OFFICIAL - Unfortunately Standard Liege have confirmed that club captain Zinho Vanheusden has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament via an official statement posted on their official club website.

The player will undergo surgery as soon as possible and the club have estimated that he will be sidelined for around about six months.

A 4-man defense with Bastoni, De Vrij, Skriniar and Vanheusden fighting for the starting spots? Sign me the fuck up.

No wonder we barely stay a float financially with these types of deals. 17 mil for him after those catastrophic injuries and 20 mil for pinamonti

Vomit inducing even if we take hindsight into consideration...

Yes thats the reason

I have seen him play multiple times, he is a great defender and he will overcome both those injuries.

I would think probably the central position. In my mind he would be a Ranocchia replacement. If he’s really good then maybe he can give De Vrij legitimate rest.

Though in the same article they also said Dimarco and Salcedo come back too.

yea, for Salcedo it was known for a while. He will also be loaned again. I just hope they loan him to a club in Holland, Belgium or even second German league. This kid needs to score goals and play a lot. Loaning him to a Serie A club, just to come of the bench wont do him any good. Dimarco should stay as he has played pretty good this yea. I'd say much betterthan Perisic or Young.
