It would be much better if he played in Italy rather than go back to Belgium (which is still better than warming the bench on the other hand)

Hmm, don't think he'll walk in the line up of Standard easily. They got 2 good central defenders who've played nearly all games the entire season so far.

Meanwhile, he's back from the injury and played 90 minutes in his first proper appearance with Standard Liegi against Gent.

According to Belgian media (RTBF), he had a very good game, already fitting well in the team and showing "class".

With all due proportions, great news. (and fingers crossed)

He played the game against my team. Was leading the defense, very mature. Although he grabbed a very stupid yellow card (handball) he was the best man on the pitch. Promising as fuck

Hopefully he stays on loan and develops into a top CB that can start for Inter in the future, i was thinking he should be the 3rd CB but that means he will be on the bench and i am tired of young Inter players going to waste.

I read a couple of weeks ago that he was unhappy at the limited playing time he was getting at Standard and that he would reconsider his future at the end of the season. In the interview, he stated that he wants to play more regularly rather than sit on the bench.

So he 'showed class' in his debut, as I am reading above, but got benched anyway?
Only one game in half of the year looks terrifying - shame, I liked his performance during our last summer tour. Hope he will bounce back soon.

That's the fate of most of our primavera players sadly. Wasting away time on the bench of mediocre clubs all around the world.

His father Johan posted a few videos of his son already working out in preparation for the 2018/2019.

I don't know if it will be with another Belgian top team like Bruges (as it was rumoured) or KV Oostende instead (where he would find his youth coach, as I read).
Maybe he will be sacrificed by Ausilio in his June fury of plusvalenza+recompra of young players that is about to unleash.

In any case, let the playa play

of all our primavera kids, he's the only one whom i consider a potential future Inter player.

it's crucial for him to make the right choice, he's already lost precious time.

He'll stay in Liège for one year. There's a new coach who loves developing young players and as Standard is playing in Europe at least until december, he'll get enough playing time. Former coach chose the more experienced players who were playing well together. I think that if he played more last season, he'd had a good chance of making the Belgian WC squad.

Little update: After a difficult start Zinho is now an undisputed starter. He's very mature for his age and has already earned some MOTM awards. Even in Europa League he has made some very good appearances against Krasnodar and Sevilla. He'll probably stay another year in Liege. Guess he will be in the Belgian first team squad for the next international games aswell.

Promoting him to #3 in our squad not bringing in Godin and his wages while getting rid of Miranda’s wages as well as Froggy would be ideal.

Granted playing every week is nice but rotation in 1st team plus Champions league/Copa Italia while training with our first team seems better

The kid is 19 years old. Much better to let him stay there and play every game for another 2 years, then when Godin contract expires, we can bring zinho in....he'd only be 22-23 then, which is still young and inexperienced for a defender.

People need to chill on these young players. Let them develop..

Disagree. Nothing is more important for a youngster than playing week in, week out. After his loan spell in Liege I'd prefer to loan him out (or sell to with buy-back clause) a mid table team in Serie A like Sampdoria who have already developed some young cb's as Skriniar or now Andersen.

I'd say it would be better to leave him to Liege for at least one season after this one. Then if he isn't ready for Inter, sell with a buyback clause to Samp or equivalent like suggested. All this depends on our CB situation of course.
