Ibrahimovic: 'Failure is part of success' :proud:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic explains why he became a guest host at the Sanremo Music Festival.

The Milan striker caused a great deal of controversy for his decision to spend the week guest-hosting at the festival during the season, while others wondered why he felt the need to take the role at all.

He had been playing up to his ‘arrogant bad guy’ persona throughout the week, joking that it was his festival and took control of it, but when he gave this monologue on the final night, it was hailed as a wonderful message.

“Everyone knew Zlatan before this festival, so why did Zlatan come here? Because he likes challenges, adrenaline. If you don’t challenge yourself, you cannot win.

“I played 945 games in my career, and I won many of them, but not all. I won 11 titles, but I also lost a few. I won many trophies, but I also lost some.

“I am Zlatan even without winning every game. I am Zlatan when I win and when I lose. I scored many goals, but I also missed a few. Very few.

Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of success. Doing nothing is the biggest failure of all.

If Zlatan can make a mistake, so can you
, the important thing is to make a difference every day: effort, dedication, perseverance, concentration.

I am at this festival to tell all of you that in your own small way, you can be Zlatan. Thank you to Italy, my second home.”

Holy fuck, this dude is taking the cringe to the next level :yao2:

More Ibrahimovic controversy after lockdown restaurant 'meeting'

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was again in the headlines for non-football reasons on Monday after he was reportedly pictured in a Milan restaurant while the city was in a coronavirus lockdown.

Italian news website Fanpage published photos it says were taken at lunchtime on Sunday of the AC Milan forward with friends, all without masks and surrounded by wine glasses, in the restaurant which should have been closed to on-site diners.

Sunday was the last day of lockdown in the Lombardy region where Milan is located and several other regions with improving contagion statistics.

Lombardy will be reclassified from a "red zone" area to an "orange" area, where people face fewer travel curbs, shops can reopen, although a ban on dining in bars and restaurants remains.

A source from Ibrahimovic's entourage claimed to AFP that the Sweden attacker was there for a "work meeting", while the restaurant's owner Tano Simonato told Fanpage that the group, which he says also included former Milan player Ignazio Abate, had not eaten in the restaurant.

"They didn't eat, as friends we had a glass of wine," Fanpage quoted Simonato as saying.

The photos caused controversy also because in the autumn Ibrahimovic, who contracted Covid-19 in September, promoted social distancing and mask wearing for the Lombardy regional government.

That motherfucker calls himself a lion but nobody talks about how he paid money to have a lion in africa prisoned to then get released so Ibra could hunt it down with his gun. Later on they sent the skin, skull and jaw of the lion to his home in Sweden

Nothing more can surprise me about him, suits milan very good

What a psychopath.

I've read he'll feature in Asterix and Obelisk. He'll play a character named Antivirus.

I knew for a while he was the "face" for some of these betting agencies, which sounded alarming. But owning 10%, that's quite revealing.

The guy is a gem that we will miss once he retires.

He is a cunt on the pitch but don't forget we loved him when he was our cunt.

It's also cool to see his perspective in words regarding locker rooms.
At Manchester United he helped Mourinho tame the morons, he was out and then they collapsed. At Milan he has resurrected people and made others feel confident.

Not that many players out there with this winning contagion.
People argue that Cristiano has this but he doesn't really. He always amplifies himself but not the rest, sometimes at the expense of the team.
