Precisely this.Absence of evidence is not equal evidence of absence. So the inability to produce sufficient evidence of a crime/offence does not equal that no crime/offence exists; it only means that crime may or may not be charged or prosecuted.
It wasn't proven Acerbi didn't say anything racial. At the same time it wasn't proven he said anything racial and that's why they didn't want to punish him.
To me, no reason to doubt the authenticity of Juan Jesus's reactions on the pitch in that moment. To me it leaves a bit bitter taste on the mouth, from Acerbi's side. That he denies everything and thus invalidates everything Juan Jesus says.
