I've never been a fan, honestly, but I grant him he's been a solid performer for them over the years. Definitely not a flashy player, let's say he usually gets the job done, which is all I ask him. I read somewhere that he still fancies himself a midfielder, but I doubt Spalletti will go along with his wishes. Anyway, his arrival means that D'Ambrosio is back on the right flank, which in turn means that our current set of fullbacks offers little to no offensive contribution. That's why it would be wise to sign at least one "creative" fullback (so no Darmian or Zappacosta please, since Dambro would bench them both).

I remember liking this guy a lot in his Udinese days when he was primarily an attacking midfielder. He was definitely one of the most interesting players in the Serie A at that time, but managed to slip under the radar by many. I haven't followed him so much in recent years, but when I have watched him he seems to have matured quite significantly in his defensive game. It'll be interesting to see how spalletti uses him because he is such a versatile player. My guess is that he'll want him to push high up the pitch, knowing he's more than able to cover the wing. Reminds me a lot of Florenzi in that respect actually.

Don't like that he's former Juventino, but as long as he integrates into the squad and helps us I can look past it. He'll bring a certain grinta and winning spirit that's for sure.
