I'd like to see how you'd explain to the board.

MM: "So... I see we lost again?"
Branca: "Yeah boss, I can't believe dis.." Blows cigar
Ninuk: "Boss, the boys did what they could, and we should be more patient with dim!"
MM: "Hmm..."
Branca: "Boss! You ain't gonna listen to dis punk now!"
MM: "Zip it Marco! Your voice is pissin' me off!" Breaks wine glass over Branca's head
Ninuk: "Boss, lookin' at dim Catalans, you could see they prepare their kids and use them in the first team at ages between 17-18 in da first team."
Branca: "I hate dim Catalans!"
MM: "I thought I told you shut it!" Steps on backhand
Branca: "AHHHHHHHH"
MM: "One word, one more word and you'll sleep with da fishes..."
Branca: "A.........."
MM: "Go on, kiddo.."
Ninuk: "Ah... Thank you Mister Massino, listenin' to me like dat!"
MM: "Cut it, and get it over with!"
Ninuk: "If we play em then we can attract lots of attention of other clubs who want em and can sell em for loads of cash!"
MM: "Interesting... go on.."
Ninuk: "Now and din, there will be a gem of a lad who we can keep and lead da boys!"
MM: "I'm really likin' dis..."
Branca: "Boss! No! Don't believe him!"
MM: "That's it! MATERAZZI!!
Materazzi: "Yes Boss?"
MM: *Snaps Fingers*
Branca: "NOOOOOO"
Materazzi: *Two Bullets*
MM: "That was for Jonathan... Maicon heir my ass."

I disagree with Pereira. To me he played a great game. Was active in defense and in attack. At least he tried to do something up ahead, not his fault nobody follows him in the 16. I'd give him more minutes on the left flank. He played great.

For once, I agree with you. I won't be here, I'll be somewhere in a hidden bunker where I'm gonna lock myself up, watching my tv to prevent myself from murdering people and destroying my house in frustration because I know it's gonna come. I am gonna suffer lonely and silently in the dark. I'll see you guys after the match, if I survive it, that is. Forza Inter...
I came. I did.

Some observations on our game tonight:

It's a new habit of mine to lower/mute the voice of the commentator to concentrate on the match and how the stand-out players were doing.

1 - Our left flank is vicious in creating chances for our forwards. There has been a lot of discussion on how Cassano preformed which I will not address now but in a future article. Regardless of the overall evaluation of his contribution he was involved with our forward drives because he is our talisman when looking for solutions. Cassano drifted to the left with Pereira who drove forward regularly with good dribbles but with a weak end product.

2 - Despite the good display by Palacio today, he missed a large amount of chances that could have increased our score in the first half. From what I wrote, there are 3-4 chances in the first 12 minutes that were dealt with recklessly.

3 - Some said that Jonathan was good tonight, and I do agree. However, I couldn't tell what was his role tonight. I presume it was a defensive one because Zanetti was driving forward all game so he may have been instructed by Stramacionni to cover at the back more than attack. What is clear and undeniable is that the man is limited when he goes forward. Other than the build up of the second goal, he couldn't produce a similar threat to Pereira but on the right.

4 - Benassi, I'm actually happy that he played and proved his doubters (not his doubters, but the ones who keep questioning the effect of a youth player on the first team) embarrassingly wrong. I loved confidence, and the way he muscled some of the opposing guys of Pescara to win back the ball or prevent a counter attack. The passing was a class we missed in many games, and like browha said; he sin't the finished product when it comes to creativity and vision. There is also some remarks against him, so that you don't call me a sucker and such. There are certain aspects of his game that I believe will improve with more playing time. When you look at his is positioning in front of the defense, where I wished if he dropped deeper to pick a pass regularly from the keeper and CBs. However, I understand that the presence of Cambiasso was effecting his decision to go back at times. Still 90 minutes, I'm satisfied.

5 - At 37 minutes the possession was 67% for Inter & 37% for Pescara.

6 - I noticed that Guarin was somewhat complacent at the start of the second half, which lead Pescara to attack early and pile on the pressure before the same Guarin was able to read their thrust forward and exploit it with Palacio.

I think u wanted to write that Pescara had 33% ball possession.

Other than that, brilliant post.

if we have to keep playing cambiasso in defense, im happy with gargano to play. But what gargano cant do is to play as the midfield director/tempo dictator/ball playing midfielder.

If he fills in for Cambiasso in midfield, e.g.

Benassi Gargano Guarin

that's fine.

If he's playing alongside another limited DM, then its pure fail.

IMO Mudingayi is much better than Gargano as DM, and his passing is not much worse.

Xavi like.
Against Pescara that isnt as hard as Real, of course, but its a fucking good start. Gargano would probably be at his mandatory 70-75%

Actually Gargano's pass completion rate is not that bad, the problem is 95% of his passes are like the ones that Zanetti and Cambiasso make, side passes and passes to CBs and the GK, which is why Zanetti and Cambiasso have more than 90% completion rate in most matches.

The problem with Gargano is that every time he tries to make a pass forward or tries to retain possession he creates a great scoring opportunity for the opposing team, and this is intolerable because he's not that good defensively, he just runs a lot.

The only good forward passes Gargano makes is long aerial passes he makes when he has a lot of space, but in the position he plays he'll almost never have that much space.

WINTER PALACIO

The Nerazzurri won 2-0 against Pescara with the Argentinian (protagonist) and Guarin.
Surprise Benassi, 18 years old and a seven in rating.
Cassano did not salute as he was substituted by Rocchi.

RESTART INTER

After a month of fasting, an anti-crisis victory. Palacio, goal and assist.
The Nerazzurri are back running and now are third. The Argentinian opens the match and gifts the 2-0 to Guarin.
No fighting from Pescara.

Milan – Signs of awakening. Signs of restarting. With benefit of doubt. A doubt called Pescara. With Sneijder return to the San Siro as a semi-interest spectator, Inter are back to winning way after more than a month. And after conceded 12 goals in the last eight games, Handanovic finally gets a cleansheet. After two months of not scoring, Rodrigo Palacio scores again. Between him and Milito only had three goals in the last eight matches. Cassano is mobile just like the good old times. All this is thanks to the degree of freedom that Pescara granted the Inter players. However, it was truly FantAntonio who lasted for an hour. With this loss to Pescara, Inter increased the average points gained against small opponents to a bit less miserable 1.25 points.

Benassi In short, this cold raining day has left a good taste for Stramaccioni and the fans of Inter. The coach will keep getting satisfied because the packed infirmary will get lighter with many returns in the coming days. It also turns out that a little freshness also improves the style of play. We are referring to Marco Benassi who is the best player on the field together with Palacio (goal and assist for Guarin for the double). The boy was a master in the midfield. He is mature, secure, and very dynamic. With him in the middle, Inter seem to be a completely different team in a good way.

Another Pescara Inter totally deserved full credits in this win but we are still in doubt. It will take a more severe test to see if the club has found its game again as well as the hungry soul for victory. We do not need to wait long because next week, immediately test will come in the form of Roma at the Olympico. We will see. Because this Pescara were just too soft. The team, which arrived at the San Siro after two consecutive wins and especially the one at Florence, was a disappointment. They conceded so much space, little nastiness from behind, embarrassing up front. The various talents like Weiss and Celik were too cocky of their elegance but they played without any concreteness. Playing in style but never served a decent ball to the poor Jonathas up front, one that has his own problems. One has to wonder how Pescara got to beat a good Florentina team right at their home. Bergodi perhaps expected it. He took out an element in the trident to be more covered in the midfield and behind: Weiss played very wide on the left. Once they were down, the coach put him back behind the strikers. But the Slovak talent was in one of those days that he only dribbled and dribbled and dribble but did not build anything concrete. In the middle, only Bjarnason had to face a though Fredy Guarin.

The return of the tail Regarding Inter, they had little to worry about. Cambiasso seemed to be the true center back unlike in Udine. And in the offensive end, with Guarin behind the strikers, immediately seemed convincing. More sped. More determination to conquer spaces and opportunities. Palacio especially: the tail is back? It seems so. And when Pescara tried to react, Inter opened even more opportunities. And the proof is the second goal by Guarin who was along in the area after the assist from Palacio. If Cassano had not exhausted all his energy, Inter would have scored another couple of goals on the counterattack. Then there was enough time to see Rocchi, Mudingayi and Milito in the last minutes. We are waiting for Roma, waiting to see if Inter are really back.

6 months I've been saying this. I'm so pleased he finally got the chance to show his own ability. Like I said a long time ago, one midfielder could change the entire shape of how we play.

Admittedly it was only Pescara so we need to take it with a pinch of salt for time being and see how he can impose himself in bigger games, but it's promising at least - this is exactly the sort of midfielder we need to link play up properly. The sort of midfielder Motta was capable of being at times.

I believe Gargano got like 75% in the match vs Udinese, is where I pulled that figure from :)
