I wouldn't mind some rich billionaire Russians or Arabs owning the team.
Hope he sells the club, for Inter's sake. or atleast let someone else be the president, who know a thing or two about football, because he clearly has no idea, with all due respect.
Money isn't the only problem at Inter currently, even with the current amount we have to spend, we should be top 4.
Not only on table, but also by quality. We are nowhere close to that atm, and our quality is same of that to Bolgona.
Some Arab consortium are apparently bidding to buy Arsenal. I wonder if any of those ever have interest in an Italian club, since it seems Moratti is contemplating selling.
To be honest this is a dawn of a sad new era. The cost of running a competitive football club is shooting through the roof. Italian clubs will no longer earn a place as one of the best in Europe. They will be unable to compete with the spending power of Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern, Man U, City, Chelsea and now maybe Arsenal. With the new EPL funds then Liverpool and Tottenham will soon earn more than all Italian clubs.
If you consider our current spending is below Juve, Milan, Roma in Italy, and with less squad investment than Napoli makes us fifth in terms of financial strength in Italy. This is a club who 3 years ago lifted the CL.
I guess in a way it was nice to have been able to win the treble before the curtain closed. But in another aspect watching the Serie A become a feeder league to England and Spain is depressing. Even if Inter miraculously get CL revenue, that will barely be enough to keep the current ship afloat. They still need someone to help build a stadium which will only start paying dividends in 5 years.
In the modern footballing world, for Inter to be competitive they need an owner far wealthier than Moratti. But selling the club to the massively wealthy to play their version of football manager kills any form of identity clubs have.
For Italian football fans it seems we are entering dark times.
Angelo Moratti? Is that you?WAKE UP SON!
Besides all that, even if a Russion/Arab billionaire buys the club it would be an ultimate sell-out. We hate on clubs like PSG and Man City for making a farce out of the game, yet this is what it may take to keep up with these new-born 'big' clubs.
What an absolute joke it has all become.
And yet Moratti spending a billion was okay? Nothing wrong there, he can spend as much as he pleases, since he is Italian. But if an Arab investor would do that, Inter would do an ultimate sell-out? I don't get it. You call yourself an Inter fan, have you saw the late nineties, early 00?
Most cups are won by teams with money. A rare Dortmund can come up here and there, but they are still not exactly world beaters. The italian clubs had money (remember Lazio?), used it and now they don't have it. Easy logic. Fuck it. Now Moratti wants to have a youth project, which is currently not working at all. Most of our team (that is performing good game after game) are still of the old garde. Currently I can't see Inter being consistent without Cambi, Zanetti, Cassano, Palacio, Handanović,...all over 30. And those are exactly the players (except the GK) that will soon have to go somewhere else or retire, in two, three years. We need a new spine to our team.
You're such a liar you started supporting Inter in July 2011.P.S. I started supporting Inter in 2010. What do you think about that ?
