Bologna - Inter (24 Nov 13)

Anyways, Bologna are terrible. Even if we play as bad as we did today against Livorno we will still grab 3 points so im hoping mazzari gives a few of the boys a kick up the ass for this fixture. We can't afford poor performances against teams like this. Bologna had 2 horrific losses to Sassuolo and Verona recently and will get a point at best Vs Atalanta tomorrow.
Despite a poor performance today we will go into this match hot on the heels of the top 3 due to a slip in one of or both of Napoli and Juve so its another game in our hands to pile on the pressure leading into the new year!

Realistically though this break could not have come at a better time. 14 days for many of our players to recover. From what i know Milito, campagnaro and Mariga will all be re-available for selection within this duration to add more depth to our squad, along with players like Alvarez, Zanetti, Cucho and Rannochia and well, anybody else who has looked like they have been only approx 70% fit week in and week out.

So exciting to see the boys enjoying their football and digging deep to find the results, Mazzari really has turned this club around on a physical and mental front. And the idea of going into our next fixture potentially 12-13 points ahead of Bilan is EUPHORIC!

I'm kind of hoping to use Cuchu and Pupi as subs for each other. They're both getting old and probably won't be able to play every game.

Couple of thoughts hit me about this game.

In this game for the first time in years Inter will have all the players available and injury free.

In this game also Mazzarri will get the chance to field the 3 best dribblers in Serie A ( and top 10 in Europe) based on several statistics.these players are Alvarez, Kovacic and Zanetti. Many might argue a Cambiasso-Zanetti mfield would be a disaster, it might, however we can not deny that Cambiasso has slightly developed himself into a more forward midfielder who try to support updfornt scoring more goals and get involved in more plays by making assists and even openning space. As for Zanetti, we all know how he can take 3-5 players from the opponents which will aloow us to exploit more space, however Zanetti`s weak point is the last touch, so If Mazzarri somehow worked that up and tried to link Zanetti with either Kova or Alvarez to finish the last touch for Zanetti after say he made some heroic run, which he`ll always manage to do. I think we`ll be up to something in midfield there.

In this game Mazzarri will get the chance to try Samuel and Campagnaro in the defense. might play Samuel as the CB and Campa as the RCB. and ofcourse Juan on the left. and we`ll have Ranno and also Rolando, who proved to be a solid CB when needed. Could it be a project of powerful defensive line to carry us for the rest of the season? I like to believe so.

I hope the worst for juBe, and I wish Roma crumble more just like I predicted they would eventually. as well as Napoli. But all importantly, I wish Inter finish this season the way they started. with alittle more luck with injuries, and with fair games by refs along with good performances from the all team, everything is possible.

Bologna have been crumbling this season into tumult, and it's good to see so many of our prospects on loan competing for starting places.

Keep an eye on Rolando Bianchi, who was a regular goalscorer with Torino, and new arrival Jonathan Cristaldo in the Bolognese attack.

All that aside, I'm attracted by the possibility of a 3-4-1-2, as well as a Belfodil - Icardi strike partnership in:


Rolando imo should be best as a sweeper, given his suitability to such a role (rather than that of the ball playing CB)

Although I understand the general mood of the forum on withholding a starting berth from Belfodil and even Kovacic, I think Icardi deserves a chance, and that an interesting option could be a Palacio - Icardi duo supported by Alvarez in the CAM.

I don't think Cambiasso should start today, given his importance to the first team, as well as the high risk of injury at 33.

THat's quite disappointing to hear

In that case, I doubt my suggested tactic can be effective, given the massive difference in playing style between Icardi and Palacio.

However, I would be intrigued to see a 3-4-2-1 type tactic with a duo of Alvarez - Kovacic behind Palacio as the lone striker.
