Fuck I loved him as LW against Genoa. I think in yesterday's game alone he showed more technique than he has throughout the whole season at CF. I'd love to see him stay in a more supporting role.

He scored the most. But no. His last season in Genoa > Both in Inter. His last two in Boca > Both in Inter. (note that i didnt watch him at boca, but he was rated as one of the best forwards in whole south America, was wanted badly by Barca, and so on).

Palacio in Boca played ALWAYS as a RW, his job was to assist Martín Palermo (Boca's historical top scorer), and he did it perfectly. His weakness was his finishing. He missed a lot of 1 on 1 chances, but as his job was not scoring (at least was not his primary objective, as it is now in Inter), it was not a problem. In 2008 he declined his level because of an injury, yes. But when he returned, he scored a key goal to win the championship. I agree with you that his seasons in Boca were better that now in Inter, but IMO the main reason is that now he has way more work to do than in Boca.

I still think that he will play better if he plays alongside a poacher, like Milito or Icardi. Couldn't watch the entire match yesterday, but I think that the pitch was too bad to count this match.

Palacio's good enough that he can play either CF or RW/LW without a huge drop-off in quality. The problem comes from the midfield support.
