the crucial point would be his fitness level. we need a fullback to play in no time. if he's fit then santon is a correct short term solution. the guy shouldnt be worse than donkor. i dont think we'll see him playing 13 times when d ambrosio and campagnaro recovered. except mancini likes santon or shows very significant progress.

economically it's good. technicaly it's not bad move.

Don't understand why people are so negative about this deal. Of course he's mediocre, but seems like people tend to forget that we're broke. The free loan, low buy-out price and fitness security clause (the 13 games) make it a good deal. We needed a fullback and I seriously don't think he will be worse than Jonathan or Nagatomo.

He is better than Nagatomo, at least at Inter. Both have been pretty much shit lately.

Mancio took Maicon when the dude was 25/26, and made him the best in his position, tall, fast, physically beast, crossing, scoring, all of that beautiful stuff.

Nagatomo had several years in Serie A, playing for a weaker side, then playing for a slightly better side, and never impressed, week after week Pajo was trying to justify him, just as i was talking shit about him, give Santon the benefit of a doubt before wowing.

Nagatomo is actually better than Santon in this years edition. So it's actually just stupidity. PS: Maicon was a Brazil international in 2003, way before Inter and Mancini came into the picture. In other words he was better than Santon is now when he came to Inter, like way way better.

Wasn't Santon hyped to be like the fastest player ever when he was young? I kept thinking that when he played in the Prem that he always was surprisingly slow (for a back that is).

Saying Santon is better than Nagatomo is idiotic though. The guy couldn't even get into the Newcastle side this season. Has Nagatomo's defending regressed due to Mazzarri's wingbacks are the furtherest players forward tactics? Yes, but he's still better than Santon

Santon just got back to fitness though, so that is part of the reason. But still, Nagatomo is a good player. Santon has not been able to prove that in his Premier League career. Also, a bit of a hot head who picks up bad yellow cards.
