I like the Tottenham players in their NT a lot and I'm happy they are performing well. Especially since it's helping my argument that Dele Alli, Trippier and Kane aren't hacks.

Yeah, some teams I like just for being underdogs like the Suisse.

But I really don't care who wins it now - England, France, Brazil, Colombia, Belgium, Russia - a lot of players I like from these countries. I probably like Brazil the most just because I have a thing for Marcelo, Neymar, Coutinho, Firmino and Willian. And let's not forget that Miranda is also there, bossing.

Dele Alli has been crap though and Trippier wasn't really noticed. Kane had 1 good game vs Tunisia where they forgot he was part of the game for 2 corners and in the easiest game of England's WC history, he scored two PKs (the first one probably wasn't even a foul) and a fluke goal where his teammate pretty much shot the ball at his heel. I'd say all three have been rather underwhelming given the hype, though arguably Kane has 5 goals in 2 games so can't really say much against him.

It feels like Loftus-Cheek has been the most influential player for England though and the only one that I'd say performed above expectation and hype was Maguire.

England has looked terrible this tournament, but they still have a lot of good players.

Ask Messi how important scoring a penalty is. Kane delivered.

And Trippier is playing really good, pretty sure you haven't been watching the games.

Yeah Trippier is one of their better players and RLC is probably their nothing player. He played good 7 mins in the first game and people praised him so much, all he did was play one good pass and ran a lot.

Btw finally Lingard got lot of praise from English media and journalists on twitter. It's good to see that people are finally seeing what he brings to the team.

with messi and cristiano ronaldo out so early, i hope we have put an end to the worldwide fad of adoration for single players in a sports team. regardless of them being the best players ever or not (i would def say not), they count much less than an organized team.

Two good games? No. Against Tunisia they didn't deserve a win. Panama's players were crashing onto eachother so it was just a hillarious occasion. Against Belgium they both had their reserves.
If they beat Colombia they'll have a very easy route to the final. Given the hype, they should be finalist favorites even from now, before the Colombia game.

But their only "good game" was against Panama.

England deserved shit. Very chaotic team. Lucky for them, Colombia played football for only 10 minutes when they scored, otherwise were even more chaotic.

I don't think England can beat Croatia or even Russia. They will beat Sweden in the same way the won against Colombia.

Think they will struggle against Sweden, good organised team and decent on counters. They should be very careful with set pieces though, England have scored lot from set pieces and also won lot of penalties from corners.

Have you seen Swedes? Average height of the team - 185.2 cm (second best on the tournament after Serbia). Set pieces won't do shit if that's the gameplan.

Height alone isn't the only factor. The way players mark and defend also matters.

For example, City are full of midgets and ManUtd have players who are very tall, still City scored 3 from corners.

Delivery, attacking runs, marking everything matters. In this world cup, teams have struggled to handle few English players, as in from defending set pieces by holding them and quality from corners has been very good.

From what I have seen, Sweden are good defensive team, so hopefully they will deal with set pieces.

With Colombia the picture says that England was the one that struggled, conceding from the only rral set piece chance Colombia had.
