3rd place has the silver lining of picking up points for future seasons with a good EL run. But the aim should be CL quarters , we are Inter ffs.

i am a fan of EL and feel like conte could take us far in it like he did juve but yes suning want to take us to top so whilst a EL deep run or eventual victory would help us greatly in that it wouldnt do as much as a CL semi

not end of world if we lose as much prefer win over verona sat if i could only choose 1 but we are big enough to have both, if we get to KOS it will be big progress and then who knows how far we can go as we are a very organised team with new signings to come in january to boot and a returning alexis sanchez

What i learned from last year is that you still have to win some games. Let me explain: Inter was last year favorite to go trough. We had only to make 2 points against a horrible Tottenham and PSV at home. On paper it was sure that Inter would pass that group and it would be normal. But it was not the case.
So as much it seems not that difficult to pass a group with Slavia and a Dortmund who is not neccessary that good (specialy without Reus), you still need to pass that group. And if you pass it's still great for us because it means that were better then last year where we lost because of playing pussy football against PSV and Tottenham. Some fans (including me) could think that beating BVB was not special because of their injuries. After what happend last year in CL we have to take every win as positive because Inter is/was not the top team that can easily beat everyone. So what i want to say is that it's not important how and against who we are playing. For now going to the 1/8 final is really important for us, a important step forward.

A lot of people will think that BVB is bad, BVB has injuries.. yes maybe. But Inter is still not this top team who will make profit of it and pass the group easily, as we saw last year with Tottenham. So passing the group means a lot!

Let's not repeat last year performance against spurs away. Play to win, not to draw. Put that high pressing in their half.

BVB have to attack us this game, sit back and hit them on the counter. Sensi would be so important for that so hopefully he's fit and healthy.

Sanchez would have been ideal for this game.

I don't get why people are underestimating Dortmund. In the first game we were both below par. I'm yet to see a strong presence in Europe and I'm not discounting the 45 minutes vs Barcelona. That just beat the general expectations, it's not as if we rocked the world.

We need a big win here for many reasons but it looks as if we are more drained than Dortmund who is struggling to get results. They are a streaky team so you can expect the worst or the best.

Win is ideal, but im happy with a draw as well. We just cannot lose! Losing will put so much pressure to us, and we will have to win the next 2 games (most probably).

A loss means we are out. And having our fate sealed that way after just 4 matches would be really sad. To get even a point, we have to go for a win here. No pussy shit.

We sure as hell don't have a squad to play for three fronts, but going past the group phase would be simply amazing, cos then just a sprinkle of luck makes miracles happen. Also, once the group stage is done, less games will be played and also fuck Copa :)

Getting through to the next round is probably the only guarantee that we will have a squad to compete post the winter break. I'm sure getting through would lead to at least 2 signings, with one of them being starting material.

But we're a long way from that. We need a big performance here.

D'Ambrosio, Asamoah, and Gagliardini out of this one.

This means we're seeing one of (or both) Vecino and Borja at one point as Sensi won't have 90 minutes if he starts. Biraghi from minute 1 also. Christ help us.

I think Conte will start Sensi. He said in the press conference that he had full 3 training sessions and that he is fit, but didn't confirm his start. But then he said also that "we train to take the initiative" - that is basically confirmation, that he wants Sensi to play.

Just saw the news
So definitely Biraghi will start and maybe Vecino cause I don't think Conte will risk playing Sensi from the beginning.

The thought of Biraghi going against Sancho is giving me shivers.

For matches like this, the off button on the remote is extremely useful.

No, most probably Candreva will start on the left flank with Lazaro on the right, which is pretty logical, if anything, Lazaro played in the Bundesliga and he knows Borussia players better than other players. And if we wanna progress to the last 16, we must start Sensi-Barella-Brozo midfield with Vecino and Politano as first subs. I don't think that Borja will have any minutes regardless of how the game flows.

Yeah, that is what I had wanted to post as well. Candreva can do well in the left and Lazaro is okay in the right wing (he had a good game against Bologna & is familiar with German league). Sensi must start, if he is fit.

We just can not afford to lose this game. Forza Inter!!

The thought of Biraghi instead of garbage Asamoah makes me confident

I have a feeling we will go with Biraghi - Candreva as our wingbacks. Candreva did the press conference so that usually means he will be a starter. Lazaro would be interesting to see, as someone already mentioned he is comfortable playing in German teams. Not sure how much of a difference that makes but it’s something. If Lazaro starts I think I that means Candreva at LWB which looked alright at the weekend. Not sure I trust either against Sancho.

Should be a nail biter.

Basically we'd be playing with ten men. At that point I'd risk Lazaro.

Didn't Spalletti take Keita with him to a press conference and then not play him? :awyeah:
