6 league goals in 3 seasons but 11 in 14 EL games. How the fuck does that even happen.

I don't get what leverage Giroud has for 4m€ salary request with that term. I mean jesus what? Of course tax law will decrease the hit to us but still.

Well he's currently earning €6.8m per season, so he's taking a sizeable pay cut. Even still, yea, €4m is pretty significant.

Oh, and while I was checking Giroud's salary I saw that Chelsea gave a new contract to 19 year old Hudson-Odoi, making him the highest earner at the club with a salary of €11m per season???:lol::lol: Fucking clowns.

Are you sure these numbers refer to net and not gross wages?

Re Odoi, they probably gave him so high wages to convince him to stay as he wanted to join Bayern last summer.

Those are gross numbers.

Giroud isn't taking no paycut to join us, in fact he's getting a raise as we're including an extra year in his contract.

With new tax law, this 4m€ net equals to less than gross of 3m€ net salary, this is why we're getting our new players from abroad.

But still, 2.5 year contract with that salary is unbelievable given this guy is 33 and planned to be a bench player. I mean he's never been any real star player or anything.

But whatever.

So we get this guy on high wages to sit on our bench while we still havent renewed Lautaro? :yao::fffuuu:

Im going to stop watching if we replace him (lautaro) with that croatian kid from Real. Actually it doesnt matter who they will use to replace him. It will be like losing Coutinho but then tenfold.

Wow we really are becoming a retirement home for reject Premier League players  (except for Eriksen)

I don't even think he's worth that 6.5mil fee or the 4mil salary but I guess Conte needed a big striker and Giroud fit the bill for him.

Football has transfer fees, but in terms of salary, teams underpay athletes from entry to prime and then overpay from prime to decline. Ozil, Sanchez, Bale are the first names that come to mind.

Baseball and hockey use entry-level deals, and if the player is great they would be looking for 10-15 year deals that are almost impossible to live up to.

Basketball is just a bitch league. Seems like all you have to do is show up and you make 12 million. 6'8 super athletes, that bitch at the slightest contact, and wont join a team unless their friends go with them.

Only Cro kid in Real is Luka Modric

Good point,

I would understand if we’re taking some former world class player who can still be world class but not constantly and not 40 games per season.

Ibrahimovic and Dzeko were perfect type of players, Henrik Larson from Barca days ...

I hope we’re underrating Giroud, after all he’s World Champion.

Now we need him to back Lukaku and Sanchez up for the next 3 games. With the lack of playing time he's gonna be rusty and immobile for sure.
