Well, that was more because of time pressure last 10 minutes. You can not expect Atalanta to not create any chances the whole game. That's why he came in, so that we neutralise those chances.

Tbh i believe it had more to do with D'Ambrosio exit than Skriniar. Gosens became alive the moment we brought Young on the right.

So this Ndombele swap is realistic?

I think we are giving up on Skriniar too easily.

What do we get in return if Ndombele comes to Inter?

Apparently Real Madrid is again interested in Skriniar. The report states that last summer the asking price for Skriniar was 100M and now Inter would accept a bid of 60M.

That's horrible. If it's Real, it should always be 100M minimum.

BUT Real Madrid already said they won't buy big this season, so unless if it's a swap for somebody else, I don't see this happening.

Is that a rhetorical question? What do you mean what do we get in return if we swap Skriniar for Ndombele? In return, we'd get... Ndombele...

Whatever though. Fuck Real Madrid, fuck Conte and Jose and especially fuck Ndombele. Skriniar was dismal this year. However, seeing a 34 year old Godin finally come to grips with Conte's system, and improve immensely, gives me a small ray of hope.

True, Godin was for a while, arguably the best CB on the planet, and he's significantly more experienced than Skriniar. But what we saw from Skriniar in 2017/18 was nothing short of mind-blowing. He was fucking godlike just a short 24 months ago.

Hopefully, Skriniar will learn from Godin's example, not just in terms of tactical adjustment, but his attitude. As Godin said, he kept his mouth shut, he was happy for the team and supported whichever teammate played in his place, while working hard and silently in the background. That may still not be enough for Skriniar.. but I want him to have the chance.

I truly, truly detest these non-stop rumors about us offering him to other clubs - rumors which at this stage, we must conclude have substance to them. It reminds me of Kovacic <> Kondogbia back in 2015. Swap our only creative, talented, technical midfielder for another 2-way workhorse? I wanted to fucking murder Mancini. Just sickening stuff. Hope beyond hope that Skriniar stays.

I'm trying to think of what was the last Inter move, or Inter related event, that pissed me off as much as selling Skriniar will piss me off if it happens. It's definitely been quite a few years since a fuckup of that magnitude.

Not really? I mean I really hate recent kits, and especially that one with a burning passion, but at least you know that it will be gone in a year. So realistically I only have to endure roughly a dozen matches where we will wear it, maybe dozen and a half. The worst that could happen is that we win CL/EL and immortalize the kit for the next 30 years so that it becomes instantly synonymous with us or something of similar magnitude.
My obsession with kits comes from a heavily romanticized love of the late 90s/early 2000s era of football. Half of that obsession indirectly stems from me being unable to comprehend such vast difference in taste between different people.

Icardi saga pissed me off but it didn't really piss me off that much. Spalletti's era was a transitional one, I never expected us to win anything. If we are talking about players, I was sad when Palacio left because I really respect Palacio, plus he kind of proved his worth. I can't even compare losing Skriniar to Coutinhos and Kovas because they were here for only a little bit, it doesn't hold the same weight. I truly see a captain in Skriniar, management should know better and be aware that he will become invaluable once Conte leaves. And I don't think anyone on this forum sees even in the most hypothetical scenarios Conte staying here past the next two seasons. And even at that, Skriniar can still bang 10-15 apps. Injuries happen, rotation becomes necessary, yellow cards accumulate.
Covid will blow over, I'd rather keep Skriniar for another season and raise his value from 60m back to 90-100 again and then sell him, if absolutely necessary. I don't understand the thought process behind prioritizing his sale over so much actual deadwood. Especially since FFP is suspended at the moment.

Imagine if Cuper couldn't fit Zanetti into his formation and declared him expendable? Sometimes you really need to think long term past the current manager. And in general, Conte needs to be kept on a leash. A comfortable, loose one but still ultimately a leash.

Personally as a his national supporter, I obviously support Skriniar. But I also have to admit that at the moment, he is not at his best in his position and that other areas can benefit more from reinforcing. So I would not be agaist if he leaves. However, I hope it will atleast be a decent club, not a shity Tottenham. Real would be fine. But it would be a shame. He could be loyal one club man like Hamsik was at Napoli.

Zanetti had those issues actually, specially in the 90s, but not this extent. Imagine offloading him back then for some random dude...

We were actually considering selling him and had accepted a bid from Barcelona.

And Skriniar has been in silent sale for quite some time, before Covid.

Skriniar was dismal even last season, under Spalletti, in a 4-man defence.

Haha no it wasn't rhetorical nor cynical, I genuinely was interested since I don't have an idea how Ndombele played this season. It's just that fact is this dude is Spurs' record signing and played 20 fucking games.

The most important traits in Conte CBs are, and have shown to be, agility, anticipation, and passing. If you rank our defenders in accordance with those skills, you will find skriniar to be last in all of them.

His struggles out wide are obvious, but cant be overlooked because our attack requires our wingback to be in advanced forward positions, so if we get hit on the counter, we're vulnerable with so much grass behind him. Medium to long passing has also been his problem, and in comparison, you can see why bastoni and de vrij are locked in starters.

It kind of breaks the heart to think of selling Skriniar, a guy who could have become an Inter legend.

Anyways, my take is: if Conte stays another 2-3 years, or maybe even longer, then yes, I would make the sacrifice and sell Skriniar. He just doesn't fit in this system.

So in your opinion Godin is better in agility and passing? Come on, Godin was especially against Getafe the worst passer of the team. And there where a lot of games where Godin was giving the ball away every time. De Vrij and Bastoni are the better passers in the team but all the other defenders aren't better than Skriniar.

I know Skriniar isn't the best on the ball but the criticism some now have is exorbitant. Before Conte came Skriniar was seen as one of the best center-backs in the world. And now suddenly some members seem to want to say that he really can't do anything and is worse then any other defender we have. Yes you are right if you say he hasn't performed well this year but that doesn't mean he lost his football skills. (This isn't aimed on Lui but in general).

Idk the management/conte has given up on him too easy. I would want to give him another year.
He wasn’t great but he wasn’t a total disaster.

The only acceptable reason to sell Skriniar is to get someone even better....Not by getting freaking Smalling or keeping godin as a starter.

Makes sense, only issue is there's no way of certainly knowing that for sure. I and I imagine others are willing to bet that Conte won't stay that long (as he has never done that in his career(?)) and besides having a player of Milan's calibre and his passion and love towards our club makes this choice a hell of a lot more easier.

I do however see the appeal in selling him for big money and investing in players that would help Conte deliver silverware since he's misfiring in his formation and after all it's "business" but I'll take the romantic approach every single time becuase I'm that cunt.
