Godin was a bench player before he hit his magical form at the end of the season. Skriniar is a 60+ mln central defender, playing as a 15mln RCB.

I'm sure it's not hard to spot a problem here and why this position in Conte team might seem too benefit from a change.

If we sign a lower value defender than Skriniar, but a better RCB than Skriniar, we already are better on the spot.

Obviously it might backfire if we fire Conte in 6 months or he quits, and we hire a coach who plays with back 4.

It's a fine line and a risk, you take often in life, like buying Motta who was to Barca at one point, what Joao Mario is to us now.

If we sell Skriniar for good money, update that RCB spot and then somehow sell Brozo and buy Kanye for that spot, we would immediately be a much better team for Conte.

Season starts in three days. So naturally we still are rumored to be getting rid of two starters.

Kanye is going through a divorce right now not sure his head will be right.

We are so much selling him. First they offered 45 m, now they raised to 50 m + additions. And Inter want to sell him, so they'll meet halfway.

Sad to see him go. Best of luck in London.

So who does this deal unlock for us? :yao2:

Why the fuck didn't we get Kumbulla to replace him... Half the price of Skriniar.

Like I said before, always 1 step behind.

Steve Hitchen, Spurs technical director was seen on milan today,
I doubt he would come here during pandemic if the negotiation isnt in advance stage or the demanded/offered price is close
So sadly i think therea a huge chance that we will let him go, maybe 50m + add ons
I just hope whoever they decide to buy with those money is fucking worth it
Because they just sacrifice the most loyal player of the club

Completely agree.
I mean, I don’t care if Skriniar leaves, I just don’t know who we replace him with now. Surely someone better then Darmian I’d hope.

Lol just saw some Milenkovic highlights and I thought I was seeing 1st year Skriniar.

YouTube highlights ain’t much to go by but he’s really good going forward.
Very aggressive... plus there’s a clip of him owning Skriniar on a header lol

I’m torned.... this all the depends of what we get in return.

Milenkovic plus Kante/Partey might be worth it.

Spurs's setting up a promising squad. Bale, Regulion, Skriniar, Son. Should be aiming for CL spot for sure.

Prepared to see Smalling after we give Skriniar to Spurs.

Players like Joao Mario still training in Suning Centre. Getting 3M in the pocket.

Welcome to Inter.

Replacing Skriniar and Godin with Darmian and Smalling will be utter facepalm, but very Inter-esque.

Kovacic was signed as a young prospect, but surprisingly he became our best player in that season he was signed. A foreign teenage singlehandedly attempted to pull forward the broken team under Stramaccioni. Came Mazzarri the genius who deployed him as a left winger and came Mancini who despises creativity from the every fibre of his body. Kova couldn't thrive under them for his free and creative playing style was snuffed out. Then he was decidedly sold to Madrid because "he isn't good anymore and he doesn't fit the coach's system". I was very disappointed by the decision because finally we have a promising player who loves Inter from their heart. The worse thing was Mazzari and Mancini didn't last long in Inter coaching seat thus we have neither competent player nor established game system.

Now we have Skriniar who carried the team for 2 years and became one of the best defender in Serie A. He struggles in a new system and we are very quick to dismiss him with the same old reason "he isn't good anymore and he doesn't fit the coach's system". There are too many things I would list as an argument why Skriniar should stay but I am too lazy to write it. I am just sad that we will lose another passionate Inter player and the coach will likely leave not long after.

The selling hasn't been official, but the writing is already on the wall. Then what if Skriniar leaves?
1. The best thing is we sign the replacement which at least as good as Skriniar and is able to have succesful career with other coaches in future.
2. Pazza Inter compels us to go the hard route so I would expect the worst scenario i.e. we sign the experienced (read: senile) centerbacks like Smalling or Mustafi on Conte's request. Should this happen and we fail again to beat rube for scudetto, Suning should expose Conte with coronavirus and put him in hospital bed with 2 ventilators. One for his lung and another to fuck him right in the ass without anesthetic.

Kovacic is a good example though Skriniar situation reminds me a lot of Seedorf when we sold him because he didn't fit Cuper. Just maddening decision. And knowing Inter, Conte will be gone in few months after satisfying most of his demands. It would be the most Inter thing to do.

We need to remember in the summer of 2019 probably everyone in this forum considered Skriniar at least 100m€ defender, before Conte.

We are effectively pushing this guy out too. He most probably wouldn't want to do it but will because he's being pressured to do it. He's gonna feel the rough side of the football business in this one. We need to remember this guy kicked his agent out who fished for contract offers from other clubs, Skriniar didn't want any of that and wanted to just negotiate with Inter.

What Luka said might be correct that he doesn't fit to 3 man defence as well as someone else. But only way to accept pushing Skriniar out for me is that the end result is really net positive. Signing Smalling wouldn't be that at all. If we "swap" Skriniar for Milenkovic and make some 20m€ cash in addition, it's not a good business transaction. Players from lesser clubs have the risk factor of not being as good at Inter/top club. Skriniar was the same 3 years ago, but he made it. He doesn't carry the risk factor anymore and 20m€ extra cash is not enough for that risk factor in my books.

Let's see what happens, I have my fears and I do hope they are useless.

Honestly, I dont think people are being subjective/honest when it comes to Skriniar.

Do you really believe Skriniar's performance last season was due to the formation not his own deficits?

We conceded the fewest in the league so you can't really blame the system nor say he was over-exposed. Defenders tend to defend better in 352 too. At the same time, Skriniar seemed to fail at basic 1v1 defending too often, LCB or RCB. It doesnt feel right to blame all of this on Conte right?

So the question is, when is the right time to cash out in our profit? How much trust should still have in him knowing if he has another season like the last one, his value will tank? Personally, I wouldn't spend 40m on him if I were to buy a defender, so I will take 60m for him if the offers come.

I would love a loan of Skriniar for one year. Then in summer of 2021 he is with us again.

If we get Partey for Skriniar, it will be worth it. All other instances, nah, not really. Don't want fucking Darmian close to our club. Don't even want him to play in Serie A.

And Pirlo too. Apparently one of the best Italian midfielders of all time wasn't good enough for Inter. Now we have the Eriksen situation, the bench warmer for freaking Gagliardini! And we let go of Zaniolo for a whiskey and a coke. Let's see when Esposito will be added in some shit deal in exchange for some washed up has been.

I think Skriniar sold for Kante + Smalling.

Kante for 50m and Smalling on loan with option buy for 15m, but we pay 5m first.

Spurs > Skriniar > 50-60M > Inter > Kante > 50-60m > Chelsea > Declan Rice 50-60m

How I wish Conte fucked off after the end of the season. Zhang Jr.'s inexperience in this industry is going to cause this massive blow.

I'd rather finish top 4 next year than win a scudetto with Conte's junk players and be stuck with deadwood for years to come.

Loaning Skriniar out would destroy him.
