Martinez is one of those players I'm happy to keep for as long as he wants to be here. You can see he has all the attributes, it just takes time to put it all together at the highest level.

He needs to shake that little bit of entitlement he has. It's hard to do when you're considered the future star of a football mad country like Argentina. Not that I think he's a diva or anything, but you can tell he thinks a lot of himself (not necessarily a bad thing).

He needs to realize he's not THAT good just yet. He should keep his head down and work hard; all the other stuff will come.

I don't think he can have those things that he is missing. Otherwise we wouldn't be a hard working player as he is. You do need a level of indifference to be able to be a stone cold goal scorer, like, let's say Icardi was for us.

He just need to improve the thing he already is good at. And then it is Inter's job to partner him with someone like Lukaku and make Lukaku improve the things he is good at.

Can't have em all.

This is not pokemon... And I sound like a salesperson

Imho the biggest thing in his way is his head/temper the longer he does not score the worse his decision making usually gets, thats clearly something he can work on..

Ofcourse not scoring and confidence will affect every striker out there, but it seems to be a bit extreme with him, it just always seems like he s trying to do to much once he has not been on for 2/3 games...

He is not great finisher.

But from the characteristics he has, I would really love to see double digit assists from him per season...

He will score double figures, but I feel we need both Sensi and, bear with me, Vecino so our midfield has fresh legs throughtout the season. He gets into a lot of good positions to shoot, he just got unlucky the last few times.

Vecino would actually be a breath of fresh air as opposed to being stuck with Gagliardini as a starter.

I don't think there's a roster spot for him though, is there? Aren't we maxed out?

Completely disagree with that!

I though he has a great game in defence for Shakhtar.

That was possibly the worst I've ever seen him play for us. Holy shit, terrible in every sense of the word.

Getting very confusing. He's supposed to be the second striker, creating chances and all. Ended up Big Rom was doing it all for him. And Lauti kept blowing them up.

Lautaro is no longer my first choice. He should be benched until he earns his way back into the team.

He’s not really a SS like Sanchez is, he is another CF. He just happens to be on the shorter side with a little bit of dribbling ability. The scary part is his finishing has just flat out deserted him. This kid hasn’t been at the level since the Barca links and he’s had more then enough time to recover. At this point you have to wonder what his level really is.

The guy was running his ass off, was getting hacked all the time and still managed to get free and get some shots in. Most were bad of course, but this guy wasn't as bad as you're making him out to be.

For some reason he was too eager to finish the shot with his left and on the volley. If it works, it's too good (see the first chance that hit the bar) but if it fails, which is more likely, it won't look good.

He gets A for effort for sure and should not have been subbed off.

If you want terrible in every sense of the word, there's an Ashley Young thread here somewhere.

At least Toro were in those chances. That crossbar chance was great instincts, too bad he was too eager with the second shot outside of the box. Then the header was also brilliant stuff but the aim was horrible. Toro really needs to start training the finishing, it's not too late. The important thing for a young striker is that he actually gets those chances, he has good movement inside the box.

It's not like he needs training to learn how to finish chances. He's very capable of that.

It's a mentality/composure issue. He's far too eager. It's as if he's chasing something all the time, he's uneasy and all that. Even coming off the bench in his first season he wasn't like this and it wasn't because he wasn't arrogant enough, he's always been quite cocky with the ball.
