If Conte is going to stick with 3-5-2 (and let's face it, he will) we badly need to get a left wingback in January. There's a big hole on the left with both Young and Perisic being poor this season. It's a much bigger necessity than another midfielder or a Lukaku backup.

I want a new LWB, but I'm sick of the mediocre stop-gap solutions. Either buy a sure fire starter like we did with Hakimi or invest elsewhere and make-do with what we have for now.

It depends on what they have in mind regarding the coach situation. If they intend to stick with Conte in the longterm then sure. Sign a left wingback who can be a definite started now or in the future on a permanent basis. Else we should only look for a stop-gap solution as long as Conte is around and secure a loan deal for the left wing. Once Conte is gone, no coach is going to play with two ultra-attacking fullbacks no matter how good they are. It's not functional. We have already seen it in the past with Maicon and Maxwell.

I think we can bring Biraghi back. Fiorentina has some interest in 9n and Prandelli uses more 4 man defense where Biraghi doesn't fit well. I know he was shit first half of last season but he definitely stepped on and showed that could be rotational player here.
9n has no more value these days sadly. We couldn't take even 15mln for him imo. So that could be a good deal for both sides.

A good coach can always work out tactics which use the wingback as a fullback or elsewhere. See how Cuadrado played as RB for last couple of seasons. Let's just get a quality player. Conte will fuck off end of this season.

I’d be in favor of this deal as a loan. He isn’t a great defender but sound technically and can also play in midfield.

Emerson seems like such a run of the mill mediocre fullback. He doesn’t score goals, he doesn’t provide assists and as far as I’m aware, he’s not some fantastic defender either. His physical attributes are average. For a club that has a history of having terrible luck with LB’s, I’d take a hard pass on him. If it’s not a clear upgrade on Young, what’s the point?

I feel Alaba 15m€ salary demand is gross, so that there's something lost in translation. In Germany I think they use gross salaries and Italian bhenchod media doesn't understand this.

Or then he really demands 15m€ which is ludicrous at covid era.
