I'm rewatching Seinfeld. Best decision of 2021 thus far. Entering season 6 after just a week :D

I'll have to add that to my list, thats a fantastic shout.

Been trying to think of something to watch for ages, tried Peaky, Sons, Lost and a few others but couldn't get in the mood for them (seen them all before). Settled on Game of Thrones, re-run it is.

Apparently Your Honor is a great show

Mate that looks unbelievable, thank you. Love Bryan Cranston, I nearly re-watched Breaking Bad. I'll wait to end of series (mid Feb I think) should be finished Game of Thrones by then.

Do tell what you feel about the last two GOT seasons when you finish.

I've seen Game of Thrones before, this is probably my 3rd run through :) I absolutely loved the last 2 seasons, I loved the choices. The only thing disapointing for me was that one episode that was a blackscreen for 60 minutes.

Game of thrones went we don’t know how to end so let’s make the fans happy

Let’s keep Cersi alive for no fking reason so that is the final battle.

We mentioned the golden company so let’s bring them 2 eps before the final. They never end up fighting

If they had just killed Cersi in season 7 that could have made the series much better.

Wandavison is fking trash!!!

Skip the 1st 2 episodes. Your just going to hate them. Episode 3 starts to explain shit but still. The show is sort of watchable by episode 4 and kind of fun by 5.

I just hate how Disney and Marvel get away with putting out trash and people raving about

I've just binged-watched The Wire this weekend. My third time watching this serie but damn, this serie deserves so much more recognition and attention than it really got in the end. For everyone who doesn't know this serie: Shame on you and start watching!

It's either Breaking Bad, Sopranos or The Wire. For me, it's the Wire.

They mentioned the golden company in season 2 I believe, they only appear in the end as they do not appear in the books but are mentioned (so I read, mind the pun).

I feel like what ruined it more was the fact they did 7 episodes season 7 and 6 season 8, I know a few were longer but only a few and not by long 30 mins max being generous, if they stuck to their 10 episodes a season I feel it would've been grand.

My biggest annoyance with the show is the dragons + episode 3 (darkness battle) but I can divulge as dont want to spoil for non watchers!

It's either Breaking Bad, Sopranos or The Wire. For me, it's the Wire.

My mate re-started Sopranos, its been added to my list.

Its getting rave reviews and great ratings, peaked my interest but I've not added it to my list, I guess I should not haha

Going to start this tomorrow :) Maybe tonight.

It's either Breaking Bad, Sopranos or The Wire. For me, it's the Wire.

I liked most of Breaking Bad, but why is it considered so good by everyone? It was great for a decent run and it didn't ruin the ending (entirely) but I feel like it is overrated in the sense that while it's been a great show, it gets far more credit than it deserves. Something like Sarri's Napoli of television.

I've even seen people say that Better Call Saul is better. It's quite dark and dull and honestly it's not very interesting and the ending of season 4 was the only promising aspect. Haven't watched the fifth (last?) season yet.

I remember the hype around Lost and Prison Break, though I was not watching those. The Game of Thrones hype was amplified by the social media on top of everything else.
All of these have ruined themselves by not knowing what to do with their ending. If you subtract their final 1-2 seasons, they should be amongst the best. With Prison Break returning lately, it makes things even worse...

The most enjoyable I remember watching - the first time - was 24. It had tiring moments as well, but overall I think I'd place it somewhere in my top 5 of dramatic tv shows. Maybe just outside.

Cannot go wrong with Sopranos or The Wire, should be in anyone's top 3. Also liked Six Feet Under, Twin Peaks (still have to watch the latest ones) that I may include in my top 5 plus shows like The Shield and of course Breaking Bad as well as 24 that I mentioned above. I think Breaking Bad wins in terms of how it was showcased, Twin Peaks is really old so it loses points there. There are other enjoyable shows like Criminal Minds but it's not really easy to follow with so many seasons and episodes and no specific storyline. Blacklist is one that may end up as #3 for me, even if I 'lost track' in between. But it keeps coming with plot twists and it is generally nice to follow.

If anyone says The Wire is #1, I agree.

From comedies, my top 2 would be Seinfeld and Curb your enthusiasm. There are other very good ones, but Jerry and Larry set the pace and the rest lag behind. Frasier was funny, Always Sunny in Philadelphia is great, I liked Boston Legal but it's not really a sitcom, more like a dramatic comedy or comedic drama. From latest sitcoms, How I met your mother felt the most original, while Modern Family had an incredible start but it became pastime television more than a reference for comedy after a while. Friends has funny moments but overall it's not a great comedy. It's more like a 10 year rom-com with inconsistent characters that they just give lines to throw around [and 1/3 of it is essentially copying Seinfeld and 1/4 of it is using material that Seinfeld producers did not want to include or did not have space for]. And Married with Children was great with Al Bundy, whose Modern Family character wasn't really that great overall yet he was one of the best parts of that tv show. Not a huge fan of the Office, either one. Arrested Development was nice. Community was passable. There's actually a shitload of them...

But since I have to complete at least a Top 3, following the Seinfeld and CYE triumphs, it can be none other than Yes, Minster!

Because it has great acting, an original story and the episodes vary in tone and story.

Nice post though, agree with a lot of your picks, my fav show is Lost nothing comes close in my opinion, some of the drama stuff is cheesy but overall top marks in my book.
