Damsgaard anyone?

The Danish kid n.14? Awesome right foot, scored a beutiful goal CR7 is trying to score for years. And right before the 1st goal vs Russia he had a very nice chip/cross, which players usually find hard to hide and produce, but he pulled it off. Sadly it was intercepted, but it looked great. I stopped watching soon after.

No idea about his ceiling, price etc...

Their sporting director Osti is such a gem. Icardi, Skriniar, Schick, Damsgaard, and I probably missed a few.

Our "progress" so far this season:

- Conte ---> Inzaghi
- Eriksen ---> Hakan
- Hakimi ---> Lazzari or Zappacosta

It is a miracle if we are anywhere near Jube next season. If this trend continues, seriously, will we even get top4?

If we manage to keep the same back 3 plus lazzari and perisic on the flanks and lalu upfront and... Manage to put a decent midfield together we could challenge them in paper. We might score less but there's no excuse to concede more! So there's that. I M positive.

Honestly so far it's looking better than I originally thought. A lot of next season is going to come down to how well Inzaghi can coach this team.

Have we dropped below the levels of Milan, Napoli, Atalanta, and even Roma for that matter? We'd need to be worse than three of those teams, and I have my doubts we've regressed that hard. Scudetto is probably out of reach for the next few years, which is utterly depressing, but top-4 should still be attainable.

today there was a meeting between Inter and Federico Pastorello (agent). There are Sporting, Nice and Villareal interested in Joao Mario and Esposito has Sassuolo and Parma interested in him.

I'm simply not excited for the upcoming season.

If we can retain our current starters minus Hakimi, that's not exactly bad. Though Eriksen -> Calhanoglu is net negative, but I guess Inzaghi can find a way to use Calhanoglu effectively.

Depth will obviously be an issue if Sensi remains unfit most of the time. And of course we need to find a backup for Lukaku somehow. But it's not like the squad is dismantled or anything. Conte -> Inzaghi, Hakimi -> replacement will probably mean fewer points than 91 but the target is top4 anyway.

I'm not doom and gloom when it comes to next season at this point of the mercato yet. A lot depends on how much our rivals will reinforce themselves.

So far we have:

- Inzaghi for Conte
- Hakan for Eriksen

Both of them are downgrades.

We also extended the contracts of all our backup options in defence. The same options we were complaining throughout last season, and rightfully so, they weren't good enough. And now they're going to be one year older. One serious injury in defence and you're screwed.

In wingbacks, we don't know who's gonna replace Hakimi but any of the players we have been linked with is another downgrade. On the left, things are much better. If Perisic can maintain his form from last season he's good enough to start and i think Dimarco can be a good backup option. It's probably the only position where we have an upgrade.

In midfield, we hope Hakan can play well as a mezzala in a midfield trio but we don't know that for sure. Else, our only alternative is hoping Sensi can stay fit. Good luck with that. We know what to expect from Vecino and Gagliardini and it isn't much. There's also Vidal but there's lots of uncertainty around him. He's 34, he was very inconsistent last season and he's coming from a serious injury. He also has a massive salary. I still insist it's imperative to offload Vidal and sign another midfielder on loan.

In attack the situation isn't ideal but it isn't terrible either. As things stand, we just need a Lukaku backup but if we sell Lautaro we also need to sign a starting forward and that forward can't be Raspadori imo.

I am not that worried about top 4 yet but the situation isn't looking good at all.

Inzaghi for Conte is a downgrade for sure.

But Hakan for Eriksen. We don't know about this, since we need to compare Eriksen with Conte and Hakan with Inzaghi. In my books Eriksen with Conte wasn't anything spectacular, wasn't anything what Eriksen's salary represented. Eriksen ended up being good with Conte eventually, but wasn't anything special. Hakan can quite well be as good for Inzaghi as what Eriksen was for Conte.

Also, Hakan for Eriksen was something we can't blame our management for, we can't blame anyone for that. Eriksen out was out of anyone's control. Only thing management can be blamed for that was they made the decision to go for Hakan right on that spot it was available for them. The window of availability was unknown for them most probably so they needed to call that or forget it. I cannot blame them for doing that decision, at least it shows bravery to fix the urgent issue fast.
