Why? You sound like Inter's own financial problems are not actual problems but something made up by Suning?
No. I sound like Suning gives a shit about the consequences on the pitch as long as they get the money they want from sales.

We started from setting a target of 80m profit from sales, we have already reached 173m and there's still discussion about more sales.

Failling to fullfill obligations means relegation to serie D but I guess it's not 'consequences on the pitch'.

It's a bit extreme to say we're going bankrupt, but your disregard for finances is mind boggling.

If Lautaro won't extend on that meeting, he's probably gone for 90 million isn't he

Would be stupid if Inter sells him this late, especially Lukaku is gone.

We won't, we just rejected.

Most probably that has gone that Lautaro has rejected Spurs' offer so then it was easy for Inter to just rejected it too (as player doesn't want to move anyway).

That's a huge number btw.

Also thumbs up for the 6m€ base salary. It's a bit north of what I thought but we have room now that Lukaku salary is out. Lautaro is our main guy now, so just pay him. But there needs to be 3 more years to the contract and not only 1.

Wow! Guess the English soccer site I mentioned got it wrong big time from 60M to a purported 90M. Hope Lautaro gets a nice deserved raise and at least a couple of years extension.

I understand that the chronology is very essential here, but somehow I can't help but feel that we hastily sold two irreplacable players in Hakimi and Lukaku at undervalued prices in today's market, whilst I couldn't in my wildest dreams imagine any sporting director in the world saying no to 90 million for Lautaro.

A great shame.

It's probably my coping mechanism kicking in but I think it's better to keep Lautaro, given that Lukaku fetched much more guaranteed money.

Lautaro is younger, had a very comparable scoring record in open play, and with the way Inzaghi sets us up to play, we will be better off with a skillful hardworking striker. Lukaku wouldn't have the space to build up his speed in this system like he was in a counter attack focused system.

Now the problem is we seem to have offered him 6m per year. We must have some fucking high confidence in him to offer such wages. Let's hope he will become the next superstar that everyone's expected from him since day 1.

In the long-term it was definitely wiser do it this way around. Lukaku is indeed at his prime years so he's more effectively used when we try to reach the absolute top level ie. Scudetto. We have decided to downgrade already so having Lukaku would have kind of wasted this resource. While now having more money and having younger Lautaro, we can look forward with him. He can develop even more, he might get his value even higher. If he wants to leave later, we can make more money out of it. With Lukaku this was probably the time his value was at the highest where it ever could be at Inter given his age.

Lautaro is not as prolific scorer as Lukaku for sure, but his other world class attributes more than enough makes up for that.
